I've searched for the little problem I'm having, but I can't seem to find anything. I figured I would post here 1st. I know a few of you have MSR's. So, here it goes. Sometimes while I am flying, the LED ill flash of then on.When this happens, I lose control of the servos and the throttle stays where it was. Today I got my DX6I and bound the heli to it. It is now flashig of for about a second, then on for 2-3. It cannot be flown. I tried rebinding to the RTF radio, but can't even get it to do that. Anyone have any clues? Thanks.

The flashing light is your low voltage cutoff, don't fly past this point or it will wreck the battery, lipo's can only be drained to 80% MAX. You can throttle down and back up again to bring it home after the flashing but you are harming the battery by doing this.

It is a ully charged battery and yes I am trying to bind the spekrum tx to the stock rx. It bound, but I can't get it to work right and the Stock tx wontbind back.

Turn everything off and disconnect for 30 seconds. Remember to power up in the right sequence. You need to hold the bind button on the back of the Spektrum when you turn it on.

It Got worse and worse. I read the spektrum can be used with the RTF. Now I can even get them to link at all. When I try rebinding them I get nothing either. The LED flashes no matter what I do. I'm fed up with this for tonight.I'll try again in the morning.

Do you have the instructions with you? Are you holding the bind button when turning on the Tx? Are you holding it long enough? Do you have the binding plug in the ESC? Are you connected through the battery terminal in the Rx?

Apparently it doesn't use a bind plug, but try this....
On another forum some members mentioned that they need to hold the bind button for 40 seconds before it goes into the bind mode.

/ TX Settings

Binding is the same as the mCX. There’s no bind plug required. Turn the helicopter on first, wait for the rapid repetitive LED, then turn your transmitter on in bind mode (for programmable transmitters, create a new slot in your transmitter’s memory first!). Voila. Bound.

Recommendations I’ve read for ease of transmitter setup say to use your transmitter in ‘Aero’ (Airplane) mode to make the setup easier. You can certainly do this if you like, this is how Pops flies his on the dx6i. I went the ‘Heli’ mode route, which means I had a little more extra setup. Why did I do this? Well, I wanted to be able to use the typical single switch for changing my D/R and Expo. Pops has the flexibility of choosing Expo individually, I wanted the ease of just having to flick one switch (i.e. stunt mode) to get a different set of curves.

Yes. The bind button is to hold the trainer switch, which I am doing. I hold it for 20ish seconds then get tired of the beeping. There is no ESC plug on the MSR. Not sure what you mean by being connected through the battery terminal.

Wow. 40 Seconds. Let me try that.

Went for over a minute and got nothing. Then, created another new memory for it and still got nothing. What gets me is that it was bound. Just was acting up, then it suddenly won't do anything.

Found this video on Youtube. This is basically what it was doing. It was in airplane mode like the comment suggests.

When I tried to bind my SR controller to the MSR, there were a few dip switches that needed to be changed for it to work properly, maybe some of your servo settings are reversed? Maybe try hitting and holding the bind button first and then turn on the TX, I think that's how most land based specs bind.

You need to hold the bind button on the back of the Spektrum when you turn it on.

I'm not sure you've done that.
You need to have that button depressed when you turn the radio on, and DO NOT let off it till you get the signal that it's been paired.
It doesn't do anything if you press the bind button after the radio has been turned on.
(Sometimes I bind my Rxs before installation, and rather than have the whole system wired I plug a battery pack into the battery slot and bind it from that, rather than the ESC being plugged into the throttle position.)

I have been though. You just hold the trainer switch while you turn it on. Then the screen says binding.

I just got a DX6i today, here is what I did and it worked perfectly.

Plug in the MSR, wait for flashing light.
While holding the trainer switch on, turn on TX and wait for Bind flashing.
Let the trainer switch go and wait, it should only take a few seconds but could take more.

If it isn't that easy then something must be wrong with one or the other, hope this helps.

Tried it again right before I went to bed last night. Bounds right away, but I still have that light turning on and off. Between flashes the servos go back to neutral by themselves. It is now a lot faster flashing though. I am stuck as to why it would do it.

This vid is similar to what mine is doing.

Alright guys. Wish I had better news, but I spent a while putting in the setups etc, and when I plugged the battery in on the heli the led just flashed. I thought maybe doing the setups made it to where I needed to bind again, and it won't even do that again.

Should I set the radio up 1st or just try to bind the helicopter immediately?

Just tried everything again and got absolutely nothing. I have no idea whats going on, no idea what to do, and its really pissing me off. Still won't even bind back to the stock tx.

Would you call spektrum, horizon, or take it to hobbytown 1st to get this sorted out?
