Kill Bill Vol 2 came out recently on DVD. The wife and I saw the first one, and we liked it a lot. So, I purchased both for $30 on special. Yesterday, we had some friends over for a Kill Bill marathon. Watched them back-to-back. Still loved the first one, but the second one kind of sucked in my opinion. It filled in a lot of the background, but it lacked a lot of the action that the first one included. I don't want to ruin it for those that have not seen it, but it was disappointing.

In contrast, the wife was really bored this evening so I got my sister to come watch the kids, and we went out for a movie (rare pleasure.) We chose to see Alien vs Predator (AVP). Definitely worth the price of admission. The ending leaves room for more movies while still providing closure to the first of what I imagine will be a few installments.

yeah kill bill 2 was not that great to much story and not enough action.i was disappointed also and very bored.avp looks awesome I'm going to take my little bro to see it tom.i only thing i liked about kill bill 2 was pai mei that guy looked badass.

hey sky i bet your like me and got the killer surround and big screen I'm getting a hdtv projector soon!!!

Home set up is definitely theather quality. :D

Thanks Sky. I had heard that Kill Bill vol2 was much less animated than vol 1. That's a shame. I really appreciated that in the first one. But seeing as I have already seen the first one, I must see the second.

And thanks for the heads up on AVP. That was right at the top of my list and now it looks like it's a must-see. Very cool...

I havn't seen either, I have them both coming from netflix soon.

I HATED the first one! So much so I don't even want to see the sencond one. Not to bash anyone, just no my kind of movie at all.

You're kidding right!?! (about AVP)

That was an absolutely HORRIBLE movie and I'm a big Aliens and Predators fan. They waited 10 years to come up with a script worthy of making an AVP movie and thats what they come up with!?!

There were so many problems with that movie. Maybe the basic plot was okay, but execution was just aweful....

I won't ruin it for those that haven't seen it yet, but don't expect much.....

I think people fail to see that Kill Bill V 1&2 are not sequels but one movie that they had to cut into two parts. It was written as one movie and filmed as such......... So you like the first half of the movie with all the action but you didn't like the second half of the movie with the story?

I agree with HumboldtBlazer,as a whole I liked this movie.I look at it as one movie in two parts, and without seeing vol.2 there are alot of gaps left by watching just the first half.I've never been a big fan of david caradean (sp?),and I was a little wary when I heard that he was going to play the villan in this movie.but,I was pleasantly surprised by the job he did of playing a philisophical bad guy,I really liked listening to his stories throughout the movie.my big dissapontment was the lack of a great climax in vol.2,I don't wanna ruin it for everyone else so all I'm gonna say is that in my opinion the ending of this movie fizzled.
one thing I love about tarantino's movies are his choices in music, sometimes I wonder where he finds some of the stuff he uses.I can't wait to see his next movie coming out in the next couple weeks "hero",looks like it's definately going on my "must see" list.

I am not one of those people. That was why we watched them back-to-back, and yes, this audience liked the first half of the movie better than the second half. Semantics aside with respect to first movie/second movie, the second half was much more slow than the first. It seemed anti-climactic. The backfill on the story line with respect to "Kiddo" was good to see and explained much, but the deaths of 3-5 were kind of blah when compared to the deaths of 1-2 portrayed in the first half of the movie.

Just my opinion.

As for the comments from Aprilia on AVP, realize that my wife and I do not get to go out and see movies in the theater all that often. My comments were that it was worth the price of admission. I did not proclaim it as the greatest thing since sliced bread. Sorry that it disappointed you, but I thought it was pretty decent. Sure, there could have been a ton more done with it...but it was fairly decent the way it was presented.

Man,

I love his directorial style in all of his Movies. The Kill Bill Volumes just plain kicked ass and Uma rocked. Pulp Fiction is one of the greatest movies ever made.

Long Live Quentin Tarantino

I was surprised to find out that two actors played multiple roles in the kill bill movies.apparently pei mei was played by the same guy who was the leader of the crazy 88 in the first movie (the bald guy).and remember the cowboy sheriff that looked over the crime scene at the wedding chapel in the start of the first movie? well,it turns out that he also played the mexican pimp in the second movie.I would have never known if it hadn't been for watching the special features section of the second movie.
I think my favorite charecter in vol 2 had to be pei mei,I wish they had made his part a little longer.tarantino should make an off shoot movie about him.

The special edition of "One flew over the cuckoo's nest" definately rocked. It has nothing to do with KB 1 or 2 nor AVP but it's still cool beans. Nurse Ratchett is still the big ^&%$$#%!!!
