I simply gave up on going to the movies years ago. I have been married almost 9 years and we have been to the movies three times. The last movie I saw in the theatre was GI Jane.
I like to sit near the back and at the aisle as I am real tall and need the room. If I don't sit near the back have the time I eitehr get a kid who thinks the back of my chair or MY armerest is somewhere they need to rest their foot, or I get the guy from God knows what country who has Tuberculosis or something and hacks and coughs all through the movie. Or they are so cheap they bring in a Walmart size bag of treats that each one is wrapped up in the loudest, crunchiest plastic wrappers I have ever heard. You know, the kind of plastic wrapper that squeeks when you try to open it, or it sounds like it's wrapped in bubble wrap that is being popped as they try to open it.
It is so bad that now they crank the volume so much, I can't hear the movie; anyone else get that feeling? Too loud can be as bad as not loud enough?
Yep, a man's home is his castle. Solved my problems years ago and got a nasty home entertainment system and 64" plasma HDTV. Now I can fall asleep and still watch my movie later, need to take a piss, pause; need to fart, no need to go to the lobby or blame it on the "squeeky" chair hinges; need more treats, "honey, go get'em, and don't be slow about it...". I don't miss the theatre experience one bit. PLus, now they have so many trailers and commercials, if you get to the theatre early to get a good seat, you have to sit through 20 minutes of BS.
Nope, 9.25 is close enough to 14.99 and then I own it, can watch it anytime, play it back, read subtitles, watch the extras and outtakes, blah, blah...
