what are some of the brushless motor options for the Mini-T and what other options would some of you suggest if I put a brushless motor in my Mini-T?:help:

Welcome to the forum TNX MONSTER.
I'm in the process of disassembling a Mini T that I purchased earlier this week and upgrading most of the components. My choice of motor is the Castle Creations Mamba KV 6800. As far as I know the Mamba setups will out perform everything else on the Market.

Two guys at the track are also into a MiniT war, and both have gotten the Mamba brushless motors with the LiPo battery. Unbelievable. One of them was clocked by police radar at 51, and the speed controller is not at it's highest setting.

If you do move over to a Mamba you will have to replace the rx and servo. Mamba setups will not work with the Mini T's stock integrated rx/esc.

The KV 6800 or the KV 8000 and lipo cells you will need to replace;
The plastic pinion with a metal pinion, Trinity and Orion make some even and odd teeth sets
MIP ball diff

Some other good options are;
Al shock upgrade
Al spur, GPM has 3, 59, 60, 61t
Ti turnbuckles
Losi slipper clutch upgrade

The hopup list goes on and on. I have purchased or ordered all of the above and more. I'll be posting some pictures of the project over the next few weeks.

The key to the Mamba systems is good batteries. With crappy to good batteries they'll have lots of hesitation off the line and the overall performance will just be ok. With great batteries (GP1100's) they'll scream all over the rpm range!....well, most of the time. LiPo's seem to be the only real cure for the Mamba cogging issues.

What happens is that from a stop, the motors draw an insane amount of amps to get revving up. With unadequate batteries, they can't deliver what the motor is trying to draw so the motor has bad hesitation.

Castle said that the newest versions of the Mamba have been corrected to supposedly fix the cogging issues.
