ok my nitro sport is still sluggish.. it seems to have good top but still takes off slow.. its wont hold a tune well and is hard to start when its hot.. I'm thinking of upgrading the motor.. or rebuilding the one on it.. i may just sell it and get a rc10gt.. it has a pro .15 but I've never owned one new so i dont know how fast its supposed to be.. i can get the piston/sleeve for like 30 bux.. but if its still gonna be slow i would rather spend a bit more and get some speed.. what motors would work with little or no mods.. like which os .18 would go?? or is there another cheeper motor that will give me some spunk.. anyone got one they wanna sell cheep?? just looking for a list of motors that will fit (roto carb and side slot exaust) preferably the cheeper the better.. i dont race i just want it faster.. thanks for your time!!

I have an older Nitro Rustler I'm putting a TRX 2.5 engine in. The engine and conversion kit costs $150. I don't know much about the Nitro Sports, I'm not sure if a TRX 2.5 will swap in, but it would be a lot cheaper than buying a new truck if it will swap in. Does anyone out there know if this swap is possible?

It sounds to me like you need to lean out the bottem end (LSN) so it isn't sluggish. The best way to tell if it is too rich is do the pinch test. Start the engine up and run a few minutes to warm it up. After its warmed up, pinch the fuel line closed (about an inch from the carb), it should run for about 3 to 5 seconds before stalling. You will notice more snap on take off, the closer you are to 3 seconds. Only turn the screw in 1/16 to 1/8 turns at a time. You will have to readjust your idle speed also once you get the LSN close and tweek then both a little at a time until you get it right. Once you get the LSN adjusted right you shouldn't have much trouble with your hard starting issue any more.

Try to port it. If it doesn't work out, you haven't lost much. After all, you are thinking of getting another engine anyway. I posted the link on your other post.

Miine is running, bro. Got $4.50 in it so far. Guy didn't put foams in the back tires, so I need them. Just been able to run a tank through it so far. Going to try to do a tear-down and see what I need. I enjoy tinkering on them. Good luck with yours.

Yeah, Steve at SSRCRacing had his pro .15 ported and it wouldnt stop breaking crankshafts... Maybe its just not built strong enough for the extra power...
