I took the glow plug out and left it out from my motor because I was getting a new one. Is no glow pug in the motor okay for a couple of days. I covered it with a plastic sheet so no dust gets inside.

as long as its clean around the hole and nothing can get into it ..you should be just fine

Use a ziplock bag. Fits the engine minus the cooling head. Like macguyver said as long as it's free of debri you should be good. For good measure you could pull the cooling head and use WD40 to clean it out.
