motor problems

I have a nitro stampede with E Z start i disassembled most of the engine
an seen a bearing inside the motor looks pretty shot so i oiled the heck
out of it an i broke all kinds of dirt an what looked like rust loose. The truck was free from a friend, Now after working that oil in it turns over like a brand new motor BUT should i still have it looked at professionally or try it out?

OH an the transmission doesn't seem to wana hook up is it made to work only at a certain rpm or should it be able to spin free all the time???

I'd say that if you have good compression and a good pinch, go ahead and try to run the engine and see what happens. Your not out any cash if it breaks since it's a free rig As for the tranny, it should spin freely no matter what. Sounds to me that something is bound up inside it and should be checked out.

bound up? in the motor or tranny

an when i turn the motor over by hand i can feel like
almost suction you know what i mean???

the suction is compression so that's a good thing. Bound up meaning stuck or out of alignment. Are you able to spin the spur gear by hand without it sticking? If you cannot turn the spur gear freely, then something isnt right in the tranny and you need to check it out.

If you can turn the spur gear at the end of the motor feely doesn't that mean it is slipping? the last time i tried running the truck the motor
sounded to be fine reving high an all but the truck would barley move this is an older nitro stampede there is only like two gears total, one
on the motor then one to the wheels i think?????? It just needs some tlc from someone who knows them very well.

Oh i havn't gotten a chance to try out the motor yet but how much to have the bearing
on the inside replaced??

how difficult would it be to change out the .15 ez start to the new 2.5 pull start
i don't really care for the ez starts, If the motor is crapped out.
