ok guys never had a R/C do this .. Was out playing with my revo and it died tried to restart and nothing.. changed glowplugs and still nothing the only way i can get it to start is holding my finger over the exhaust till it floods and it will finally start and run perfect but when it dies thats it u have to do the same thing again.. checked the fuel tank and its air tight any ideas.. i even set all the carb setting to factory

what was the temp outside? Did you check the temps of the engine when it died?

What was the engine temp? Fine doesn't tell us anything... Have you sealed the carb neck and backplate yet?

if the mill is warm, (even at operating temp warm) the fuel will boil away when it hits the carb. causeing it to be very hard to start. once it cools it will start back up fine. this may be your problem, flooging the engine will cool the carb down (evaporation of the fuel carries away the heat) untill the mill with start.

thats what i feel is happening. does it start fine cold?

Beason is probaly right about the fuel boiling in the Carb but how much pressure line you running on there?

the temp on the motor was 265 (onboard guage) .. as for the pressure line it is the same length as what came factory. no i haven't sealed the engine yet

probibly boiling fuel. is it a composit carb or aluminum? you may just have to let it cool for like 5 min befor you fire it up again.

I need an on board temp gauage :ponder2:

Anyways, It's probaly not the case here but I had issue with my truck dieing a lot at half tank. So I installed a 9" pressure line from the advice I got out here. Now I can run through a whole tank at a time with no issues.

when i still had the 2.5 in my revo it would do the same thing. showed up all at once as well. if you just let it cool down a little, then prime it real good, it should start right up. i believe it is a combination of the fuel boiling and the compression changing as the engine wears.

Man, I hate it when I floog an engine! Makes for a short day!

How many tanks of fuel have you run through the mill? It may (and I stress MAY) be losing some compression, but it sounds to me like the fuel is boiling away, so you may want to run a tick or two richer on the HSN to drop your temp's. a bit and keep the fuel from boiling away on restart.

Good luck, man!

Are you sure your OB temp gauge is accurate? Sometimes, if those aren't in a specific spot, your getting a bad reading and the engine is really running hotter than it tells you. Do you have a IR gauge to prove the OB gauge is right?

It just sounds like it may be on it's way out...

well which would be the best route to take try and rebuild this mill or just use the engine exchange and get a new one. I have never rebuilt 1 but it couldn't be all that hard. what do u guys think
