Hello,

I'm a pure basher. I dont race at all, nor do i plan to in the near future. I know the stock ESC can handle down to 19 turns <i think :arrr: >. I'm looking for a motor that will give me alot of top speed so i can land some killer jumps. I also want something that is relativley easy to rebuild and maintain. I was looking at the Checkpoint by O'donnel, as they claim you can run it 40 times before a rebuild is required. It's 50 dollars though, and is on the pricey side, so was hoping for some feedback. Also, if i get a nice shiny new 19T motor, how much faster will it actually be than stock?

Thanks in advance!

I have a trinity monster stock pro I think in mine, a pretty good difference, but I'd go w/ the motor you mentioned, or a reedy flashpoint motor, my lil bro has one in his T4 RTR, and it's pretty fast. And, I believe that it is ok to run a turn or two less than the esc can handle... Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

What I've been told is, if you can keep the esc from overheating, you can run any motor you want on it. I had a trinity 12t double on a duratrax autosport (rated for twenty turns) I just changed the heatsink on it to a copper one which I made ;) It ran fine 'till the day I sold it.

Some 19t motors are a little faster than "stock" motors, but are harder on the ESC. Modified motors use more "juice" than a stock motor, so you will lose some runtime w/ a mod. motor. I would recomend a good stock motor over a modified motor. Generally speaking, stockers are cheaper than modified motors as well. Good stock motors, like the Reedy MVP, Trinity P2k, Fantom, and others, are rebuildable, and with a little care will last a long time. Generally stock motors have bushings instead of bearings, so you will need to keep them lubricated. If you insist on getting a Mod. motor and are in a budjet crisis, I have had good luck with the Fireball modifieds, by Venom, and they are cheap- $15-20$

You ever check into the Chameleon 2 Pro or the Reedy qaud mag? Both are amazing and @ 35$ you can't beet it.. I'm looking forward to more feedback on the 9teen Cobalt motor although it's 65$.

If not allready you need to be using at least a sport pack 3000 or 3300 battery :)
