I have an Axial .26 Spec 1 that is "almost" fully broken in. Now this maybe simply the fuel issue but, at temp or close to it, if I give it a shot and let off to idle the motor rpm will drop low and I have to blip it to bring it up again or it stalls. Or sometimes it will just stall out after a short WOT. there is a fair amount of raw fuel out the pipe tip, plus there is fuel residue behind the motor but that may be leaking from the header/muffler joint. I'll have to look deeper into that, could be a leak from the spin start housing? Anyway, the bogging issue, should I just lean it out? Temp outside is -2 ish.

There shouldn't be fuel on the back of the engine. It won't be the starter plate, but could be the backing plate. I'd do a full seal job on that engine and give it another whirl.

Thanks for the info, I'll look into that. What about the stalling issue, or did I answer my question.....lean er out?

It needs leaned out on the LSN, and maybe richen the HSN some if it is all you have adjusted. Those engines come set WAY too damn rich on the HSN though. If the exhaust is sealing and the backplate is tight.....airtight, then it is just a tuning issue. If an engine is running excessively rich, all that excess fuel will blow out of places it normally would not.

Thanks Scrogg. I made the small adjustments, unfortunately it's too damn cold out there to do a test run. guess we'll wait till spring. Ahh, it's only another 7 months!

Seven months!? You must be way up north. I'd get creative with some chemical hand warmers around the tank and wrap that head up to keep the heat in. That's a long time to wait. Or get a waterproof electric Mt.
