What's the difference between slide and rotary carbs and is one an advantage over the other?:argue: Why is the Savage 21 higher priced than the Savave 25? Ric

a slide carb opens and closes by sliding, a rotary carb has a barrel with a hole in it that rotates to open/close.

A slide carb offers more low end punch, and better acceleration at high RPM.

a rotary carb offers more punch throughout the mid range, and less at the bottom/top

why is the .21 more than the .25 savage engine? i dunno, I'm passing that question on to the other members.

GRUMPN, the new Savage 25 that is comming out in October is going to be more expensive that the savage 21. the one link i saw on tower hobbies put the Savage 25 at $600 for pre-orders.

i think you might be thinking about the Savage SS. The Savage SS is cheaper than the Savage21. This is because the SS doesn't come with radio equipment. The SS is the better version, IMO. The upgrades on the 25 are nice but it's not a kit. A kit build is fun and you will be able to buy the other upgrades as hop-ups.
