Mobile Entertaiment System Questions

My wife gave me a new Tundra Double Cab for Christmas and I was wondering if any of you electronic gurus had some suggestions for a mobile video system.
My current driver has a Clarion in dash unit with a motorized tft that allows for my little girl to watch her dvds while we are on long trips (to the mall, groceries, etc.). The new truck configuration does not allow for the same unit to be viewed as easily from the back seating area.

I did speak with a couple of the local shops and they are suggesting the flip down screen with a built in dvd player that uses an fm modulator only instead of being hard wired into the existing stereo.

Any suggestions on this type of entertainment system for this vehicle?
And please, no wise cracks about my age or height!

I don't have kids to justify a mobile video system and I am the only driver. My wife doesn't drive so a laptop is good enough for her. I have a cd changer that uses FM Modulation for hookup. Nothing wrong with it but then again, I still have to hook it up! LOL.

Before I did buy the unit, it just seemed to be a lot less of a headache to wire it in. When I was reading the magazines about fm modulation, Mobile Entertainment gave most of them good write ups as far as interfearance and clarity.(alpine, clarion, blaupunkt but I can't remember the last one.)

Sorry for not being helpful in your post. I just wanted to say that you're a very lucky man for your wife to buy you a truck!

Nice rig.

Nice rig, StrechM, but I had no idea you were that short. Maybe you should have gotten a Neon with a booster seat.
And sheeesh, man, a guy your age shouldn't be wearing pink boots.

Rolex, didn't you read what Stretch said? GREAT, now he's going to go through life with a complex!

Wow, thanks for pointing that out, Diver6127. I actually missed that last line.
I also figured out that the purple pillow he's holding is what he sits on to be able to see over the dash.

Yes she rocks at times and thanks! I'll give you three guesses who was the first one to get to drive it for a day... The pink boots are pretty cool eh?

Diver6127, It could be Kenwood, Sony or Rosen. They all make good equipment.
The real question for the day is the fm modulation vs hard wiring.
Fm modulators are the easiest as far as installing an overhead flip down unit because the only hook ups are at the dome light. They are also the most cost effective.
Hard wiring would produce better sound because you can run a toshlink from the dvd to a 5.1 processor that'll knock your socks off in an enclosed space the size of a vehicle. The down side is running the wiring across the top of the headliner, down through paneling, carpet, etc. not to mention the cost.
I was hoping that some of you may have some hands on insight into what overhead flip down unit with an integrated dvd player would possibly be the best overall.
