EDITED: Sorry about the post here....I didn't see the Micro 1/18th scale forum/threads.

These little trucks rock!!

I think everyone should have one laying around to screw with on cold days etc lol I bought one for my 3 year old son to play with since he can't use my Revo and we both had fun with it. I need to see about jacking it up a hair and buying some assory stuff for it...you know anything stock, sucks ;) Just out of the box though, these little trucks out did some of my sons bigger wal-mart RC's. Anyways, I just had to give some props to the little guys and see if anyone had some pictures of some modded Mini T's or sites to buy parts for.

Thanks
Ray

The mini-t is a great car but there are somethings that could of been better. I think it would of been great to see oil filled shocks and a better esc and reciver but over all it is a nice truck to mess around with on a off day.
Also how good is your 3 year old a driving it. I am trying to teach a 10 year old how to control a car, it isnt that easy.

He's actually getting pretty good with it but he's been playing with remotes for almost 2 years now. (he'll be 4 in a few months)

In the begining, he only moved them forward till they couldn't move no more and then hit the reverse. Just in these last few days, he's finnaly figured out the turning part of an RC. Now today surprized the hell out of me. He was turning really well and hitting less stuff with the MiniT. I think the wheel controller works better from him than those sticks controllers. These MiniTs are perfect for little kids if your around to help them with it.

The Mini-T is alot of fun in a small package, you can take performance quite far.

For a child you better keep the parts stock and speed low.Or you will end up with a money pit.

Anyway,here is my Mini-T Pro with...a few parts,new electronics.The good stuff

Nice Mini T Monstercowpower :)

Well my son's T is already turning into a small money pit but I do know what you mean. I started checking around for aftermarket parts and you can tie up enough money to buy a decent Nitro MT with :OMG:

Anyways, I need to beef it up some since it's for him to play around with while I'm bashing in the Revo. He got upset bad last time I wouldn't let him drive the T Maxx my freind let me barrow. So I want to make this thing pretty tough and a little speed want hurt. It's going to be used in a field and so he want run to many people over with it ;) So far I ordered :

Aluminum spindles ( broke a plastic one already)
1200 battery pack w/charger ( cheaper than buying store batteries)
Wheel bearings ( maximising what little power we do have)

Future mods:

Aluminum A arms
Aluminum shock towers
Shocks ( oil filled)
motor ( still researching something that want break the bank but a little more peppy than stock)

Now I would love to raise this truck a half inch to a full inch, if possible if you or anyone knows how to do that.

Thanks
Ray

Ray,

Only buy alu parts when your son has mastered the controls. It is better for a plastic arm to break than pay for a larger piece and because the stronger alu arm hel and more damage was caused in other places.

OIC...it's kinda like a controlled break?

I understand but it needs to handle more abuse. Now do you think some bigger tires and better shocks would be some what of a medium? That would give it some extra ground clearence and maybe some extra rubber around it to help cussion it?

Ray

Yes bigger tires, fat rubber helps absorb some of the energy in a crash. But a bad crash even at moderate speeds will leave you with broken parts.Like I've said beter breat inexpensive plastic often than expensive alu parts less ...often.Or even bend them, aftera few bends in the same spot you will end up with a part to replace anyway.

You could always buy an aftermarket front bumper and install some foam padding, would look funny but would no doubt help in the case of an accident.

The best toys for little kids are the Nikko cheapie buggies with the huge flex O bumpmatic bumpers. These do not reach to great speeds and can take a beating before throwing in the towel.

Real hobby quality RC's are not a good tool to begin for little kids,it always = plenty of broken parts.Unless you have a larger open space with almost no obstacles.

Yuppers....It's the same place I bash around in with the Revo. Thats why I wouldn't mind some ground clearence and some extra toughness.

Well, I think the Mini T is out for the count anyways. I installed some barings and finnaly got me a 1200mah battery. This was like bolting a Nitrous bottle to a pinto...it's wicket fast compared to an out of the box Mini T with store bought batteries. Anyways, I was out having fun with her and she got pretty wet and stop working. I'm not sure but things could be fried. This could be a good time to upgrade the motor and esc :) It's kind of a waste of money but now that I know it can move....I'm hooked:loser: I may need an intervention pretty soon :OMG:

Stock, I dont like the mini-t that much. I used to have one, very slow, not very good bashers... My bud has one and he has snapped his chassis, top plate, and the shocks are horrible, no oil or anything.

To make it better, just add a new motor, nice battery pack, shocks and it should be good.

Ray, i sent you a pm.

Hey I got her running again !!

When these batteries die, they die right then and there :ahh: Anyways, I charged up the battery pack and off she went again. These batties and barings are a must have!!! It's a night and day difference between them and a stock T with store batteries. Now I need to buy me a few extras with some good shock for her...I may have to buy another one for my son since this is his truck :)

Ps I'll check the Pms

With a wide open space where you bash your 1/10th scale nitro trucks,go for it.

Choices are the Mamba 6800/ESC,a speed freak combo. Or brushless the Novak MicroGT and the Trinity micro Cobalt 14turn motor.

These will transform a slow Mini-T into a little Tazmanian devil. =devil

Ray, there is a goo dchance when you go the rig wet the batteries somehow dead shorted. Racers use this technique to make sure their race batteries are fully discharged before recharging. Not a good thing to do with a decent charge still lef tinthem, but it might explain the suddenness of the battery not working.

Ya, I took my son's walmart Jeep out there along with my friends Tmaxx and the jeep wouldn't hang. So my son wanted to drive the Maxx but this wasn't going to happen. Anyways, I got the Mini T with the idea in mind that it would be made to handle this field a lot better than his current store bought RC's. We took the Mini T out there today to check out it's new mods and it did awsome. The 1200mah pack and barings was like adding a supercharger to it. I'm just going to leave the stock motor in for now since it's doing pretty good in the dirt. Now I'm ordering shocks, bumper, extras plastic parts ( took your advice lol), ball deff and moster tires. Then in the future I'll upgrade to something like a Mini LST when he gets the hang of his fast little truck ;)

Thanks

That makes sence :hi:

I'm pretty sure your right because today the battery didn't just stop working when it started to loose charge. It did the typical steering started loosing responce etc tpye deal on me. This was after like 10-15mins of run time also. In the future I'll try and keep the car away from water as this may not be good. I'm also looking into two more 1200mah battery packs...this should keep my son entertained while me and the Revo have some fun:naughty:

Thanks

Ray, get a good charger to keep those expensive batteries around awhile, and you can use it on the Revo, too, when the factory one quits.

I bought some fancy charger that should charge them but I need to double check it. If so I'll need to get some kind of leed to plug in the pack for it. Right now I'm using some cheap 10.00 charger.
