Anyone know what the setting should be on the mid range screw on the savage 5.9? I mistakenly turned the wrong screw. Pretty sure I got it back to where it should be. But was way to cold out to finish playing with the tuning

Thanks. Looks like previous owner was playing with that as well. Thats where i ended up setting it when i was tuning it

I would suggest removing it and putting some loctite on the threads and set it flush with the housing. If you don't loctite the threads there is a good chance that needle will fall out. I have had this happen to me twice.

good idea... did not really get a chance to fiddle with it yesterday.. Just took it out for a quick tank to make sure teh new gears in the front were all working... Still need to fine tune a bit still have a slight bog from a standing stop. Top end is perfect now actually seems to shift better now that the front end is not binding up. i think i just need to tighten the gap the more i look at it the more i think its to big

Like cwal1774 said, it will fall out, mine fell out twice in one day. What I like to do instead of loctite I put silicone sealer on top of the head and seal it to the housing, this way I know the needle is sealed and it won't fall out. Ether way is fine.

You can also take some pliers and put small teeth marks in the threads, that way it'll stay in better, plus you can still adjust it.

Knocking on wood here I've not had the fun of losing my mid range needle. I set it at a half turn out from flush when I retuned for byrons rtr 20%. I'm not sure this helps with the issue of the mid range needle falling out but I've got green slime on mine and it does not move at all.
