It figures that I'd get the one out of 50 on the shelf with issues. My trans binds. Me being me, I bought a complete trans pod, shock towers, arms... just in case I break something right away.

At first, I just thought it was the motor being new, then I thought it was mesh, then I took off the motor and spun the spur slowly with my finger and felt it bind for about 1/4 turn. Something must be bent inside. I took off the slipper assembly to see if it was the shim/plastic pad on the back that was warped, but with it off, I spun the shaft by hand and it binds inside somewhere.

I wondered why I was only getting about 5 minutes on a charge. And the motor was silly hot. Also, it didn't coast at all. It would grind to a stop within a few inches off of WOT without applying brakes.

I ran it for 3 minutes or so, then decided to throw in the new trans. It's so much smoother and quieter. Now it coasts nice and easy. I'll run it more tomorrow to see how long it runs now.

when i got mine the screws on the trans case were to tight from the factory, loosen them up and then just snug them. see if that helps.

youc an also take a pencle to the spur/pinion and use the lead as graphite lube.

smaxxin i havent broken anything on mine yet, and it scoots around the house pretty quick. and even if you do, parts are what 75c?? lol

I've probably run it about 15-20 times from fully charged to dead and I haven't broken anything yet. It's pretty quick on short carpeting and linoleum. I built a little 4 inch tall jump out of cardboard and I just run back and forth jumping it... when I'm not chasing the cats with it. They are terrified of the thing.

Thanks for the replies, I just bought one from tac racing in the BST forum...Can't wait!

My wife likes me running it indoors more than my MLST with the brushless. It had a lot of motor whine to it and was relatively annoying to run around the house with it.

I'm glad this thread is hear, my tranny screws were a little on the tight side too. The first run only lasted about 4 minutes, I was not happy but then I remembered this thread. I slightly loosened the tranny screws, recharged the battery and ran for 11 minutes......Much better!

yea its a known problem over on one18th.com. also the wheel bearing upgrade does wonders. and check your mesh and run a pencil lead on the pinion/spur for some lube.

i get alot more the 11 minutes with mine, on thick carpet.
