I had a micro awhile back...The esc throttle was reversed, i fired it up in the house. Do the math. I had a moving celing fan for 30 secounds. I have left it alone. My next project was going to be a crawler but i want to fly...

I would like to know of a good heli forum. I have quite a few questions that need answerd. I am going to start off by saying i am picking up a sim shortly.

What is the best 3d kit availible?
What is a really good brushless motor/esc to get?
Whats a decent radio, servo , transmitter reciver?

Basicly anything i should know i would like to...
I need help. As far as flight sim i am getting the G3.

I may not be able to answer all your questions since I have a Feda Dragonfly micro that looks nice sitting on the bench but is incapable of flight right now. I would suggest visiting www.runryder.com as it's a heli-only forum. I am sure you'll find a lot of answers there. If not, try RCU and www.rcgroups.com

This might be a stupid question, but do you know how to hover yet? Then there's hovering nose in. Then inverted. It is a good idea to invest in a 3D heli right off, but don't expect to be flying 3D right off the bat.

runryder is a good heli forum with tons of links to vendors of helis and parts.

Helis are a huge money pit initially (and can be repeatedly if dirt is encountered on a regular basis).

I would like to have a small chopper to fly in the yard. Kinda discouraged with the aircraft club I am in. Any good small electrics for a starter?

I recently got an E-Flight (Horrizon Hobby) Blade CP. Nice flying micro, and very affordable. RTF w/ radio for ~$220, just add 8 AA batteries and go. It's not 100% for the beginner, since the book assumes that the pilot has some experience in flying helis. The Shogun is a good choice also, but is a bit more expensive and (I think) doesn't come with electronics. IMO, the Shogun looks badass, driven tail and 1way on the main. The blade has a seperate tail motor and acts a bit funny somtimes.
