I really don't care about it, I didn't loose anything because he smoked pot and don't care if his sponsors loose money...IMO only idiots invest millions of dollars on an image!

These companies are paying millions of dollars for someone and expect him to be a good role model and rightfully so, if I paid someone that kind of money I wouldn't be looking for some junky to spend it on.

While some people think it's no big deal just as many think it is and companies have to keep that in mind. Furthermore smoking pot is illegal, period. Who cares what you think or believe, it's illegal end of story. That said doing it anyway is anything but being a good role model or a good spokes person for a company.

Keep in mind this is also his second strike against him, the DUI after him winning all his medals was his first. This to me is more serious then the pot and I dare anyone to take up that argument that drinking while driving isn't a big deal... right after they lose a close friend or family member to a drunk behind the wheel.

Your right... Again Lessen said it well again... sometimes I guess we all get caught up in the "Living Life" deal. What Phelps forgets.. is that like it or not he is a public figure, and a role model... like it or not. Very good point Woodie.

Hey, now lookie here, it's not like he was taking steroids or a seudafed. lol if anyone remembers a female swimmer getting kicked for not passing the drug test after taking a pill for sinus issues.

As for a Role model, I totally agree. I guess when fame hits you that hard at a young age, I guess it makes you have this feeling of invulnerability and wanting acceptance at the same time. I know that sounds contradicting but that would explain young celebs going to rehabs.
 
Rolex quit being a smart ass or is that seriously the issues from what happened in the 70's

You say it as if he started smoking after he became famous...I bet he has smoked for a long time.

BTW poor unknown people do drugs rehab, drugs rehab, drugs rehab
