I have many nitro rigs I have Been doing nitro for twenty years this one is very difficult to keep temps down and still have performance

Alot of dudes are having this problem with the 8.0 , mine run's 285 and most run at temp of 300 with no problems , you can allso try adding extra cooling fine's took it down allmost 10dgrees

Thanks I will try it I got it down to 262 just by sealing everything so that should be fine right

I will admit that the higher my temp goes the better the truck performs. I keep mine around 250 or so and I get pretty good performance. I also have the front window cut open for now and I plan on cutting out the side windows as well. My season is almost over here in western NY so its on my to do list. I also installed an hpi savage xl tuned pipe along with the associated header and it lowered my temps as well. The stock muffler is a pos and should be replaced. This is what I've done to keeo my temps in check and should work for you.

Take your MGT out and go play chicken with some on coming traffic or a brick wall. That should help keep the temps down.

No I was just giving him a little of his own retarded advice. It's in the nitro talk section under the title "what's next."

Thanks for your help I have a spare pipe

Wrong about what? Playing chicken is retarded advice. Plus it proves nothing about a trucks toughness or durabiltiy. It just proves that if that's the best you have about the difference between RC brands then you're either stupid or just don't know any better. I would think that someone with 20 years of experience in this hobby which you claim to have. Then you would have learned something other than giving out retarded advice like playing chicken. It's stupid you might as well have told him to put a stick of dynamite under each one and see which one survives the blast. Playing chicken really that's the best you have to offer?

I can't go 5 min of lite bashing with out breaking one of the rear turnbuckles on my MGT 8.0 , I'll do some kinda mod sooner or latter, my savage is alot more tougher them my 8.0 , savage in stock forum has better diff's and the cultch is alot cheaper to replace and the list go's on , but you'll see in time what one is the better truck

No not the best advice obviously you did not get the just of what I was saying it was meant to be humours the mgt weighs much more and simply will not break as often as the savage once again I have all the monsters talked about on the thread I was simply telling the truth in a absurb way.
