You know other than ergonomics (ease of grip) that futaba radio worked pretty damned good. They even had a meter on the for battery life.

I was married and putting my first wife through school on $8.00 an hour lol.

There was a Hobby store in Tacoma that had a used/old parts bin. I suppose I would spend maybe maybe $20.00 a weekend on old used parts, and $1.85 on the r/c mags so I could dream. Man my Ex hated that thing heheh.

I had lots of different Tyco and Nikko Rc's when I was little but I have to blame my dad for my addiction now. He was always into HO scale trains and had me getting into it as well. Then he made the mistake of getting me an old MRC FastCat R/C boat and it was all down hill from there.Once I had a taste for "real rc" I never looked back. I still have the FastCat but it's in desperate need of some TLC.Since then I've owned an RS4-3 SS, RC10LS, Rustler, Hyper 7 PCR, a Savage, a T-Maxx, and a Monster Pirate LOL!!! I still have allot of the HO scale trains but they sit in a box now.
