RC Driving Style
Has anybody had a problem with the pro spec wanting to kick its backside in the air over jumps and big bumps no matter what you do with the suspension
 
I think that you mean it is going nose up or nose down?

Nose up--- let off on the throttle when in air or tap the brake a little

Nose down--- more throttle

Be careful as too much of either can result in the wrong outcome.

nope thanks but i understand the brake/throttle in the air/ ride motor cross as well, no when you hit a hard bump the back end tends to over take the nose, verticaly though :) same in a short faced jump !!!! thought it was cause the springs were to hard so put soft ones in and stuill does it, thought might have to much susp drop so wound in the screws, nope still does it, tried more and less damping still does it, tried moving shocks in on top stays, nope still does it.
 
tried softening up the springs or lighter shock oil?
 
differential leaking

I want to buy a mbx5 but I hear there are problems with the differentials leaking oil ?? what to do about it ??? :shrug:

Yes they do leak oil, but nothing that you can see, and you should refill your oil in your diffs every couple of race meets anyway, i dont think I've had a car that hasnt leaked dif oil, you never see if but when you rfill youll notice that theres not as much as there should be in them, I have kyosha KanaiIII mbx5 prospec and a sacker pro 2 and they all do the same thing at about the same speed.

I originally brought it as a hack car, being one of the cheapest on the market i didnt think it would be much good for racing, but as it turned out i actually love racing it, the parts are cheap, and easy to get, they do have weird suspension when you get them, i pulled out the standard springs and put the blue kyosho springs in, drilled the rear dampening holes out to about 1.8 mill and use 40 weight silicon oil in the rear, solved most of the problems straight away, the rest is just basic setup isues, i tend to run the rear shocks as low and as far in as i can (so the shock is in is most layed over position) just to make the ride a little smother over bumps, and in the front low and as far out as i can get them, the sacker tends to want to kick the back end in the air over aggressive bumps (hence the setup)
i normally Run an RB-concepts WS7 in it but have just put a Novarossi 421B to trial, AWESOME but yeah this car i would recomend to anyone that can't or doesn't want to afford a top line mugen, kyosha, XRAY,
 
There is a fix for the diff leak on the MBX-5. You can buy aftermarket O-rings that keep it consistent and leak-free.

What diff leak are you talking about? Which one? What is the part number to this fix?
 
the only place i know of that has them is mbx5Parts.com. just look on there for the diff rebuild kit and your leaky diffs will magically stop leaking oil.
i think they are 5-6 bucks for a complete kit (one kit does all three diffs).
