Looking good!!
You said exacto's are sharp. Where's the blood??
We need to see guts and gore.
Not to derail, but this is a pic of a tire burn. It's healed a lot from last week.
My K3 went WOT in my friggin basement. I dove on it and had the tire spinning on my wrist, while I tried to stall it.

Imbroken. You might consider using these head protectors from Mugen.
Purple wasn't my first choice, but all that was in stock.
I wont run without them. They do come in several colors.
I only posted this because I always see guy's using zip ties.
I feel that this looks and works better.

Those might work for a pancake landing right on top of the head, but most landings are edge scrapers. You will still ding the crap out of the top fin edges...quite possibly bend them without putting a mark on those little protectors.

They do look nice, though.

I think you put something on backwards... you might have to pull it apart to get to it...

And you were runnin your nitro vehicle in the house because.....? lol

Speaking of accidents, I almost got my head taken off by a buggy at the track the other day. lol. I was mashalin after my race, and I guess a guy thought his car died in a spot where he couldn't see it, and I couldn't tell if the engine had died, I get closer, and it was still runnin, so I put in on top of the table-top/double and I'm in the middle of the double, and I see a buggy headin for the jump at a good 40 or so, so I pulled a matrix move and narrowly avoided it. lol. I could feel it actually brush across my hair too. lol.

I was having trouble getting it started. (New engine).
I put it on my table in my washroom, next to the exhaust fan.
I figured once I get it running, I'll run outside with it. ( it's like 8 feet and up 5 steps to the door).
I didn't make it!

lol, too bad. I've thought about startin up my savage in the basement a few times but never did. lol.

Ok, back on topic

Looking good IMB!

It's looking good TJ! I can't wait to see more. All of this buggy building is starting to make me wonder about either replacing the Storm or add on to the collection.

that shock tower is rediculous! what is it like 3/8 thick?

The towers are 5mm thick, but of course, lightened in some areas to keep the weight down... They are BEEFY though... All the Al. parts have this really cool Bluish grey annodiizing... My pics dont do it justice.. The flourescent lighting over my hobby table doesn't make for a great pics... lol

Anyway... Still goin...
I ran across a slight problem with the brakes. The screws that pads ride on, do not have a smooth shoulder. I opted to change these screws to ones with a shoulder. Of course, I will have to trim the length a bit..
Step4 004.jpg

While I was at it, I used a couple of Ofna brake seperator springs to eliminate drag on the brakes.
