Ok I just talked to my contact at Horizon Hobby and I was told that the MBX5 is discontinued. Not too shure but he did say MUGEN MBX5. I have to poke more info for this. Hopefully not as this is a great buggy! I will keep digging to get more concrete evidence...

Ok I asked another person and the MBX5 is now being discontinued from their line BUT the MBX5 Prospec is available. They decided not to carry it due to the fact it drove the MBX5 price down so much that they were not getting any business for the Prospec. So what does that mean? A possibilty of finding the MBX5 at a lower price elsewhere is now possible.

I will see if I can get a hold of a few of the MBX5'sthey may have in the back still at a lower rate to possibly sell here at the same price plus shipping. I will keep you guys informed..

First come first serve..

Yes my friend. I thought of you first off!!!

You got it Blazer..

I also just talked with a Factory Driver for Mugen via I'm and he said they have no plans that he knows of to discontinue the regular x5. It's what most of the team guys use anyway.

Yeah I figured that it was just a financial decision by Horizon due to the Prospec coming out.

I heard that they were going to make their next model soon. I assume it'd be the MBX-6 or something.

Anyway, the team doesn't drive the Prospec?

It is no different to what Mugen or any company does when their current car evolves. First Mugen had the MBX-4, then something, then something, then the RR, then the XR, all the way through the previous buggy would be become discontinued. They discontinued the XR when the original MBX5 was released, no they will discontinue that to push the ProSpec. I would assume the ProSpec makes them a hell of a lot more cash, as really, the fancy aluminum parts it has does not cost Mugen the same amount to produce as is shown in the price difference between the X5 and the X5 prospec.
