I was hearing a rumor around that track this last weekend about Mugen releasing a MBX-6 later on this year. Has anyone else heard about this? I'm possibly looking to get a Prospec since me and the XB8 have not been getting along since I bought it.

Funny you mentioned that cause I was looking at new buggies too. I have heard the same rumor at the LHS but nothin to prove it. What about the XB8 are you not getting along with? I hear its a great rig. I have the X5 and made it to prospec but was looking to get an XB8 to try out. If I hear anything I will post up but only if its concrete. No need to get everyone excited.

Don't get me wrong, I really like the Xray. It was the best build I've ever done and the parts quality it one of the highest, I just don't think it fits my driving style. I was doing much better with my Mayhem. I think the car is too light for me, as I'm not really a finesse type driver. Plus, there used to be like 4 Xray sponsored drivers at the track and all but one bailed and went back to Mugen, so the driver support really isn't there.

thats funny because down here everyone bailed on mugen and went to xray lol....havent heard any rumors on a new buggy though

That's like whta happened to me. I could hardly wait to get the TTR S3 and then after spending a lot of time building ti and getting a great mill for it, I preferred my Hyper 7 PCR. Came down to how comfortable I felt with my driving style

Yeah, everytime I see one of Plaid's posts about the XB8 I wonder what the hell is wrong with me.

I just want to get another rig to compare the X5 to for my stryle of driving. I may even get rid of the thing if I like it more. Who knows. I have babied that thing ever since I drove it. I tear it apart just o make sure I don't have anything broken or damaged. the past 5 times I have bashed the thing, I have taken the thing apart. Damn its a PITA. No bent parts. I want to see how the Xray holds up.

That would be just my luck if Mugen released an MBX6. I just got mine, and thanks to the weather, haven't driven it much. Well, except for the past few days; but break-in tanks don't count!

I haven't had a chance to drive it on track yet. What I have driven it, it does handle awesome.

Seems like every time I buy somethin, somethin better comes out a week later (case n point, the Iomega Zip Drive... Offtopic, yes, but relavent... I got the 100 meg drive a week before the 250 came out).

Yeah I asked the same question just before I bought a 5.........back in September.

5 has been out for a while now, so it must be due soon-ish.

Go for a 5 anyway...

Anyone had their hands on the ugly as hell Hyper 8 yet?

People! The MBX5 is still a very durable competive rig. Just Like Kyosho did with the SP1 then the SP2. Both are great rigs. Don't be sorry you got the MBX5. I am not.

ya, i have heard the same rumor at the tracks lately, i have a couple of non mugen pros and a track and store owner confirm it. Like september maybe.

But, i love my mugen as is, so i dont really care. Mostly driver.:wasted:

I've been hearing the same rumor from people for the past year already.....even Mr. Moore was saying the same thing last year.....I'll believe it when I see it...

You just have to spend mind numbing hours trying the infinite settings it has....I was almost ready to go back to my 9.5 when I first got it.....I bought a fresh gallon and went to the track during the day when noone else was there and tore it apart and rebuilt it at least 4 times that day...(obviously not complete tear down so no wise ass comments from the peanut gallery).....it's just alot of tinkering to do on it and it gets old if you aren't into it.....I tried the MBX and just didn't like it AS MUCH as the xray.....I plan on keeping it this year and I'll be buying another one as a back up rig.....the Hudy steel parts are just tough as hell...a few of the mugen guys use the Xray Universals on their prospecs....I don't think it even needs any modding they just fit it looks like......

"fingers in ears" lalalalalalalalalalalalala I didn't hear that lalalalalalalalala

Lmao @ ImBroken^ How many times have you driven your perfect little X-5? lol

Guys, even if there is an MBX-6 coming out, its not like your track suddenly CHANGES and all the sudden you can't drive it as well.... no, its just the same ole thing, you just gotta maybe step it up a little more (maybe not, who knowes how "different" the new x-6 will be if its THAT much better). And who says you wont like you mbx-5 more then the new x-6? I love mine...

I thought I read on one of the buggy info sites that Mugen had something at the Nurenburg Toy Fair. I'll search again later and see if I find it again.

I know they announced the long arm version MBX5T, I think with all the prospec parts.

i know this isnt the subject but in the last rc driver mag it says something about losi making a new 8th scale buggy but it doesn't say much more about it just that its going to be the 1st american made 8th scale buggy ever (just my 2 cents)

Well, I ordered the Prospec this morning. I was thinking about it last night and it doesn't make too much sense that Mugen would release the MBX5T, then turn around and release a new buggy a few months(?) later. So, I went with the X5.
