I have a bottle of 30wt shock oil and a bottle of 60wt, now rather than buying a bottle of 45wt, would I just be able to mix equal parts and they average each other out?

I think you would end up with 90 weight mixing viscosities like that. Chemistry 101...

nah, mixing the 2 wouldn't make the oil thicker, the lighter oil should mix and delute the heavier oil if they are both the same brand, if they are diffrent they may just seperate.

Because I'm working on it right now and don't have the funds 2 drive all the way to the hobby shop, and since I have the two oils here right now, why make the trip if it'll work with these

And I agree with Doug that it would get dilluted. 1 gallon of 15% NITRO plus 1 gallon of 10% NITRO doesn't give you 2 gallons of 25% NITRO

Thanks a million. 50/50 mix of 30wt and 60wt will give me 42.5wt and it says 40-45 for the setup I'm doing. Perfect

Oh lord Alpine....Captain Obvious was not able to save you this time brother....
and the oil....I have done it before. I am on a island; sometimes what I need is not available...sooooo time to improvise. Done it...it works pretty well if you get the mix proportions correct.
