Hey yall i am tired of my maxx, well yeah i know you have heard it a million times but i am tired of it breaking. Iv put an unbelieveable amount of money into it and I'm not getting so much enjoyment back anymore. All i can think of is a savage and how id have no problems at all. Its killing me do i keep it, sell it, or put it away for good? I mean i took it out today, hit the curb broke the engine mount, flywheel, and mess up my skid plate. I mean if i sell it i dont know if i can get that much $ out of it. My signature tells the hopups, can yall guess an about price some one would maybe buy it for, once i get the eitems that are messed up fixed? Just dont know what to do.

I have the Maxx as well. I still have fun with her. Surprisingly I don't break much parts. But if ur unhappy with her then it doesn't hurt in trying to sell her. Dunno know how much she's worth, but put up your asking price and see what offers u get. Results may surprise you.

Don't think if you sell it and buy a Savage you will have no problems. I have both and I still enjoy driving my maxx, my Savage SS is my favorite, and is quite a bit more durable out of the box than any maxx could ever hope to be. But yes I have still had a few problems with it as well. Destroyed the diffs on the tenth tank, stripped the wheel hubs on about the 15th tank, did a few mods like the mp servo saver mod, four spider diffs, throttle and break linkage, and a few other small things here and there. Now there is something wrong with the transmission, but all in all it is a much more durable truck. Just know that whatever nitro rc you choose you will have some issues or problems with it.

This is very true. I also have the Mammoth and bashed with it twice. And both times had problems. First time out after break in of course, I bent the rear shock tower(pic in gallery for viewing). 2nd time out the steering servo went to hell & the rear bulk head is loose. So any truck will have it's issue's, some more than others.

I realize that each nitro is going to be different and that getting a savage isnt going to fix my problems. having heard what yall said helps, i think I'm going to put her up for the winter once i get the stuff fixed then ill get her back out in the spring. Money is a must have in this hobby i have found out and right now I'm broke. Thanks for all the help.

I've always been a proponent for building it yourself......it takes longer but in the long run you enjoy and appreciate it more cause it's what you want...this hobby has changed so much in 15 years, I used to machine parts myself when I couldn't find what I needed (still do). Don't be a sheep and accept what a manufacturer hands you and expect it to be all you wanted it to be....MAKE IT WHAT YOU WANT IT TO BE!!!!!!!

I didnt want something to just be handed to me, and if i was going to get another truck i was thinking about the savage SS kit. I wasn't complaining that i had to work on it thats what i love best about it. Its the MONEY factor I'm, 15 dont bring in the big bucks yet. ppl have said the savage is more durable so i figured there probably wouldnt be as many broken parts, thus saving me a little money.

Well, not unlike you, I recently had the same dillima... then I bought a savage roller and recently parted out my maxx and made about $350 on it. Considering I had dumped $1200 into it... I still feel better about not having to work on it and keep fixing stuff.

Although, mine was a 21 converted maxx which means more power, more speed, more things to break. I doubt you could get more than $150-$200 out of yours. Other than the bulks, it sounds pretty run of the mill.

The savage I got had the 4spider mod on it and cvd's instead of bones. I didn't like the shocks (broke them the first day out), so I dumped about $110 into buggy shocks and arms to allow them to bolt on. Then I did the MP saver mod and a better throttle linkage setup on it. I upgraded the turnbuckles because I bought them cheap off skymaxx (he sold me the roller), but I didn't really need them. I just liked the ability to adjust the toe without takeing an end off.

Anyway, I've run about 5 gallons through my savage since I've got it and upgraded the above things. I've only broken 1 stock part (the right rear upright hub thing) and I drive pretty damn hard. A lot of the stuff the savage ripped through, over and around my maxx would rarely be drivable afterwords. But time and time again, I take the savage out, beat the piss out of it, take it home and all it requires is a bath.

alright, i always here the the savage is tougher then the maxx, and i found that out myself today. me and a friend were driving on the street today, and he ran his savage about half speed into my maxx. he drove away, while i was left with two broked shocks, a broken bulkhead, and a broker lower rpm a-arm. i just had to laugh it off cause right after that he took his savage wide-open to jump a snow bank and the bank was soft. the truck came to a dead stop with a broke a-arms and shocks. so i guess that the savage isn't industructable, but in my experience, it will out bash a t-maxx.

Hey Fisherman I didn't mean to sound harsh like you were crying or anything. All i wanted to say was if you want something don't settle for less....all or nothing...I'm luck to now make the money so I can play with cool $hit but I too was in your position......many years ago, and like I said, back in the stone ages of this hobbie things were actually more expensive... and the dollar was worth way less...I mowed lawns and washed cars until my local hobby shop gave me a part time job.....Now is the perfect time to ask your LHS if they need help for christmas building....and I like my maxx just having issues with that P2 motor though....never again for the OFNA brand engines for me.....good luck with whichever path you choose

I working this weekend i called my manager guy i workfor and he said he needen dome help this weekend. I think the maxx is going to be with me a little bit longer untili sell it. I have looked on the HPI web site at the ss and it looks awesome i think I'm going to love building it when i get it. However until then ill just fix and get th t-maxx for sale.

Actually I'm thinking that a used savage would be beller off for me i mean i save money that way and it may already have the hopups i am going to do.

Yea, put your maxx up for sale. Depending on its condition, I might take it off your hands.

Its in good condition i just broke the engine mount and the flywheel is striped so ill fix those b/f i put it in the f/s forum. How do i get the money and ppl work out their arrangments in that forum iv never done or sold anything in there b/f. Oh and the only thing thats wrong withit is one of the engine head skrews is striped, but it still runs as long as you tighten all the other skrews good. I was running it just yesterday so i dont think thats a biggy, up to you though. Ill ask my parentals tonight if i can even sell it, just wanted to tell you about the head striped thing so if you did ever get it you knew. I'm pretty sure they will let me.

Just make sure when you post anything for sale in the f/s forum, that you include a price. Also, make sure you have permission to sell... A few people have had issues with kids selling things they didn't have or didn't have permission to sell.

Also, take a few clean pics of it and everything included if you can.

Give it a bath before the pics. A clean truck sells quicker than a dirty truck.

Ok thanks for the advice, but heres the last question how does the seller get the money for the item? How would you accept pay pal cuz ppl have said i accept paypal, do you have to have a credit card. sorry for the Q's.thanks

You have to have a credit card to use paypal.

You can also use a money order. The buy goes and gets a money order (MO) at their post office and mails it to you. It's just like a cashiers check. You can cash it at pretty much any bank.

It takes a little longer, but it works just fine.

Ok thank you for the great information. Hopefully i can talk my dad into letting me sell it however I'm ont so sure. Ill see waht i can do.

That's ok. I have a spare engine.

The price i was looking for was 250-300, I am probably going to ask 250-275$ I'm including Rotostart, charger to charge battery in your real vhicle, battery, glow plug wrench, Truck, and radio oh and some beat the hell up bodies(2).

(OBO)

Start at the high price you would like to have, the if nobody is interested lower the price, if you are willing to accept less that is.

I must have been pretty lucky so far, because I run my Maxx pretty hard when it gets out, and I haven't broken much. If nobody wants to give you a fair price, I say keep it. Maybe you can ask for some tuff parts for christmas.
