OK Yesterday I was out Bashing " Decided to take Girlfriend along " She wanted to Run Her MAXX... So we set up shop on a picnic table in the Sun "She wanted to get a TAN, SO her Rig is running fine No issues Temps in 190's Awesome.. So I decide to run another Rig I had 1st " an electric " Meanwile My Maxx is sitting on the picnic table in sun... So after a 20 min cool down. We both Fire up our MAXX's this time MY MAXX only get's 6-8 min into the Run My Rig shut's down for overheating Temps @ head where in the low 200's.. I tried adj HSN a tad Still giving me Starting/running issues Meanwile Girlfriends RIG Running without any problems... I figured with a combo of Rig Sitting in Sun & then running it I already had moter heated sort of speak... & outside Temp's where in the Low 80's @ 9:30am... I figured I will Retune my MAXX & will be fine has this happend to anyone I useally find Shady spots when out bashing & setting up portable pit & this is the 1st that happend to me...

190/200° F is pretty cool if you ask me. The engine didnt shut down due to overheating at low 200°F temps.

ya , my wife hates my trucks and I very seldom run them , and when i do she says do you have to do that now .

TRX engines run best about 260° to 290° in my experience. 200° is too cool IMO.

Running that cool I figure you would be way to rich and choking it out with to much fuel. If I am 240-260 I consider that pretty good for temp. I also only use temp as a reference gauge for tuning. You can have 2 of the same rigs (like you for example) and have 2 completely different tunes to get the same result or in your case have similar tunes and running completely different. Every motor runs different even though they are the "same".

Sounds to me like it's choking out because it's too rich. It needs to run around 260+.

EDIT:
Sorry for the echo. I guess Phins Fan beat me to it.
