i have a jeep maxx body unpainted and i need to know what to paint it with how to paint it how to paint the grill and what do i use for a paint preserver.

I'm guessing that you're using aeresol cans, not airbrushing. So, just go get a couple of cans of the colors of your choice and paint it! When you're done with your painting, back the colors with either white or silver. That will make the colors stand out more, and protect them on the inside.

I shall first impart upon you my typical reference...

There are many articles on painting but I like this one.

If you don't have an airbrush, you'll have to get paint in a spray can. The easiest ones to work with in a can are either the Pactra Racing Finishes or the Tamiya paints. There are a number of colors available so you can get really creative. Also get some good masking tape. I use blue painter's tape. So you can mask off any designs you may want to do. As far as paint preserver, usually these paints hold up well on their own. They are polycarbonate (car body plastic) compatible and nitro resistant. I know some companies make a clear sealer but I don't know if they're available in a spray can. Take a look through the gallery and you'll see all sorts of custom work that should give you some good ideas.

You CAN NOT use any paint you find in the hardware store. It has to be paint that's formulated for Lexan, and is also fuelproof. Your LHS will have it in bottles for airbrushing, or in aerosol cans.
