Duratrax runs with the nickname Duratrash. Traxxas T-maxx 2nd and first gen were very troublesome. I have ran with a 2nd gen t-maxx and it was terrible, Shifting from forward to reverse was so trouble some. You'd get stuck in a perdicerment where there was something in front of you and you'd flip into reverse and hit the gas and go foward anyways into whatever was in front of you. You get used to that though and learn not to slam the gas and test it. You look pretty stupid when you are trying to go in reverse and you tap the gas and inch forward then you reflip it in reverse and inch forward again and again and again untill your truck is humping whatever you are trying to get away from.

Why doesn't this statement sound convincing?

I'm no expert. I own only a Maxx. From the reading I do on this forum it seems that some people don't like Duratrax, some don't like Traxxas for the replacement parts issue. (I've replaced a few things but it holds up like a champ, now.) A lot of people like Associated products.

And I saw Magic Wheel get beat up pretty bad here.

Have you ever had a Duratrax? I have had both Traxxas and Duratrax vehicles, and Traxxas are all plastic and weak. Own a Duratrax then you can talk.
