hi i was wondering what any of you think about either truck. i was going to get a magic wheel buy then they said there was no more deal. and to buy one off the website it costs $290usd and i have 400cnd. so i wouldent have enough. so I'm left to these two trucks. I've already thought about getting the nitro sport but still would like some more opinions. and would anybody know how high the nitro sports ground clearence is because it doesent say on traxxas's site.

so has nobody ever driver one of these? or even heard good or bad things about them

What do you have now?

Also here is actually would recommned in your price range cause 400 candian is like 27 bucks American....
OK really here is what the curency converter told me 400 candian is worth
400.00 CAD = 269.420 USD

Here is what I think you should get its a lot more truck for the money

cozea, I have a Maximum ST Pro, I really like it it has good weight distribution and power slides really well. The only problem i have had was the pull start rope broke, about 3 inches from the handle, so instead of getting a new pull starter, they make a yank eliminator for this truck that works really great. But awhile after i bought this truck, I got a Savage 21. WOW what a truck. Anyway no complaints about the Maximum

Presonally, I would not buy a Duratrax. IMO they are not that great. I just worked on one for a relative (an Overdrive) and was not at all impressed with the construction of this truck. This truck was not that old and I ended up replacing the two speed clutch setup, and all the gears in both differentials. The gears where made of some really soft metal alloy that was not very strong. Getting the parts was an online order only. Nobody locally had any of the parts in stock. I'm not trying to tell you what to buy, that's for you to decide. I would have to strongly suggest an Associated, Losi, Transax, HPI, or Ofna. Associated would be my first choice for a stadium truck with Transax or HPI for a Monster truck.

I kinda thought that Nitro Evader looked pretty good myself. Tower has $15 off a $150 or more order.

Another suggestion is the RC10GT from Team Associated.
You can pick up refurbs from them for $229 plus shipping. Or if you are patient you can score one from them off Ebay for as low as $170 sometimes right from the manufacturer. Heres a link to Associated's site , but I highly suggest searching on Ebay for a deal. Plus parts for this truck should be plentiful.

As for other suggestions you could save some more money up and get a T-Maxx or Savage.

I read a review once about this being ok for the bucks. But who knows. I would save an extra $100 and get a T-Maxx though.

I would have to agree with Bash_N_Thrash on saving up for a T Maxx or Savage 21, I have a Savage 21 and a Maxium ST Pro, they are as different as night and day, but hands down the Savage is one heck of a truck! One of the most important things before you buy, is see what your LHS has for parts, it is a pain in the butt when you have to order all your parts offline because your LHS doesn't stock them. Something to think about

Oh ya! one other thing. Hobby People have the SportMaxx on sale for $289. That would be a great deal because you can buy the upgrade parts to make it 4 wheel drive and two speed tranny later as money permits. But it would be a great truck for starters.

:coffee:

If you buy a Traxxas you will spend $$$$$ and a lot of it for broken parts. Go and buy the Maximum St Pro, from Tower Hobbies, it's only $245, and it will keep up or beat a T-Maxx. It will also last longer.:smart:

Looks like a decent truck though. I am looking for a RC10GT instead.

It's actually very durable.:tank:

Is it? Thats what RC Car Action mag said in there review but you can't trust them. The truck did look pretty nice exccept the overpowered reliable .15 OS engine which isn't race legal. Only thing that turned me off. If I wanted a truck with tons of power that I won't be racing it would be an HPI NMT Racer like the one I had. Funny the NMT Racer is what I'd pick if I wouldn't be involved in racing eh? Silly names, there isn't a 4wd stadium truck class so HPI's "Racer" won't see much track time unless it's in the moster truck class (Don't brake me cries the little truck).

In the past? The Duratrax Evader like, just came out.

Like ok like duh like we are talking about the Maximum St, read the topic:dumb: :dumb:

I have got a Maxium ST Pro, also a T Maxx and the Maxium St Pro will outrun my T maxx due to the 2 speed tranny, plus it handles really great, good weight distribution. And as far as durability, well mine has been bashed so bad (first truck I owned) I had to buy another body for it because the first one litterally fell apart. The only parts I have had to replace was 1 upper turnbuckle on the front wheel because i caught a piece of pipe with the wheel. These trucks come from the dealer with tons of hop up parts, and can take a beating. Call them Duratrash if you like, but the Maxium St Pro is a hell of a truck for the money:spam

Oops, missed that, I was commenting about the Nitro Evader that someone said to look at. The N evader doesn't look that bad.

My Maximum St Pro was beat up so bad the anodizing started to fade, beat that!:wedgie:

Why doesn't this statement sound convincing?

I'm no expert. I own only a Maxx. From the reading I do on this forum it seems that some people don't like Duratrax, some don't like Traxxas for the replacement parts issue. (I've replaced a few things but it holds up like a champ, now.) A lot of people like Associated products.

And I saw Magic Wheel get beat up pretty bad here.
