Max wont wheelie

I would like to thank everyone in this thread for helping me do wheelies. As soon as I read this I went right down to my LHS and purchased all the things I needed to to do wheelies.

I got a new 2.5 as suggested as well as new gearing. Mounted everything up, cranked the low end needle down, fired it up and did one long wheelie all the way down the street. I forgot to mention I think what made everything work well was I also got the RPM pipe by associated. It didn't fit on my 2.5 very well but a roto tool, hack saw and drill helped me get it all fixed.

I do Have another question however. What do I do with the 2.5 that was originally in my T-Maxx? am I supposed to put it back in when I don't want to do wheelies? Flash told me to get new gearing but didn't say what size to get so I spent 94.00 and got them all. I decided to use the one marked 16t and it seems to do the job.

When someone asks me what it take to do wheelies I can honestly answer: about $300.00

Whats the point of this post?
1- People read these threads and rely on the information in them to make decisions. If you don't know the answer to a question let someone else that does know answer it.

2- When referring to a specific person or statement in a thread use the quote button so we know where your answer is directed.

3- Be specific. "Get New Gears" is not an answer. Bigger, smaller, lighter, heaver, stronger. Back up your answer with a reason.

4- On the T-maxx a 16t bell is all that is needed to do wheelies. Just about any setup or engine that starts will wheelie with a bell that low.

5- I'm an ass and decided to piss people off.

6- Front wheels are designed for steering. When in the air, you have no control over your RC.

I dont think your an ass, but if you used soap once and awhile you might not smell like one.

Well you don't need new gearing with the Trx 2.5. Stock gearing will just do fine. Some people gear it for speed cause they get sick of wheelies. Glad you had a good time finding the things you need to make the Maxx a machine.

You dont explain yourself Flash and you use all the classic answers that you just learned at the Traxxas site. Stop regurgitating BS and dont post an answer unless you know WTF you are talking about. Which you dont because what kind of response is "lean you lsn" or "you need to chage your gearing"? Just quit it bro before the mean people start to get on you. Ed was being nice trying to tell you not to be an idiot so my advice is you take his words into consideration.

Geez, even I thought about being mean to him. But after I read his posts, I became so weak and disoriented that I couldn't think straight...

What are you going to do with your wife? Will she wheelie? or do you have to change the gearing?

I've had a few requests for wheelie bars on the .15 engine. It will wheelie, but you can't have any aluminum hop-ups on the front end. Then get black sproings on the rear, and tune for torque.

Best pipe to use is the one that comes with the big block engine you upgrade to.

ED i think you need to explain yourself next time.:hehe

People worry too much about their Maxx wheelie-ing. It's cool sometimes to play around, but when you do that you put quite a bit of stress on your expensive truck.... I'll never understand why people wrench the slipper as tight as it'll go....the slipper is there to save your tranny from stripping out, and other damages done primarily from jumping and squeezing the throttle. Any Maxx truck will wheelie with a stiff rear suspenion and the slipper locked down...big whoop. You've spent $1000 plus fixing up your truck, why intentionally try to screw it up?
