Hi lads... annoying question really getting to me.

I have 4L of 25%
I have 1L of 10%

mixing them together gives me what % nitro content?!

i wanna say its going to be 22% cause its 4 parts 25% and 1 part 10% so ((4*25)+10)/5 gives me 22% but yeah i might be wrong my math aint that great havent had math in years and don't need to use that kinda stuff anymore

Mine is wrong.

Mr. bob - if you add 4 liters of 25 percent together, it's still 25 percent. You thought if you add them all together, its 100, but its still 25. So I guess you get 17.5% nitro.

wait: It would be best if you just do it like this. Just mix 1L of each instead of 4L of one and 1L of the other.

EDIT: I think I got it. 25% + 10% = 35% divided by 2 = 17.5 + 25% = 42.5 divided by 2 = 21.25 + 25 = 46.25 divided by 2 = 23.175 +25 - 48.175 divided by 2 = 24.825% Nitro!

22% Nitro----I am on board with you Mr. Bob
Think of Nitro volume.
In 4 liters of 25% nitro fuel there is one liter of nitro.
In one liter of 10% fuel there is .1 liter of nitro
Add them together you get 1.1 liters of nitro
Now, when the two fuels are mixed, I now have 5 liters of fuel of which 1.1 liters is nitro
1.1L / 5L=.22 or 22% nitro
That is how it figures out for me.....other ideas folks?

+1

It's basically just an average problem. Add all the parts together and divide by the number of parts.

EDIT: I think I got it. 25% + 10% = 35% divided by 2 = 17.5 + 25% = 42.5 divided by 2 = 21.25 + 25 = 46.25 divided by 2 = 23.175 +25 - 48.175 divided by 2 = 24.825% Nitro!

This is the correct formula to figure this out.

There is a math error I noted in red (should read 23.125) which is why the correct answer is 24.0625%.

I'm with Joe and Bob, I see it as 22 %

4/5 x 25% = 20%
1/5 x 10% = 2%

5/5 = 22%

lmao, yeah thanks guys. 22%... perfect. the wacker at the store sold me a litre of 10% and told me to break it in on that. THEN i read the manual. haha, won't go back there I guess!

cheers fellas

If I were you, I would save that liter of 10% and use it for stuff like cleaning air filters and soaking engine parts, and just break it in and run on 20%
