Thats a great truck its super fast just theres only like 1 hobby shop that carrys them. Hobbypeople.net has the new one the old mamoth was better i think but still a good truck.

It's ok, but doesn't work well off the track. The two speed is prone to stripping the gears and a center diff (single speed) helps prolong diff life and doesn't strip, but it makes it slow.

I hate that damn truck. Can't bash it or race it. Parts bend easily and u can't make a tight turn at high speeds. IMO.

I had one to run with my buddies.Even got parts made to make it stronger. AS th Team17 mentioned parts bend like the towers and sometimes the chassis as it was awkward.I got rid of the Mammoth and wound up with a bunch of parts that no one wanted. Truggy scene then was just busting wide open.

Are you guys talking about the Mammoth or Mammoth ST? I think Team 17 and Jon are talking about the OG Mammoth, and olds is talking about the ST version.

The ST still has it's weak points, but the towers aren't really one of them. The chassis braces they use leave something to be desired and the hinge pin holders bend pretty easy. But, if a holder didn't bend, something else would break. I made better chassis (well, stronger) out of 5/16" steel bar and I used 1/8" aluminum for my rear hinge pin holder. With the center diff to help protect the diffs, the truck as a whole holds up pretty good to my thrashings at a local refinery and skate park.

I'm talking about the MT. Here's a pic of the bent tower:

Yeah, that's the older version. The newer version (mammoth ST) has thicker towers. It has 4 shocks total for the truck, not 8 like that one, and it has a black chassis and different configuration of the top deck so the steering servo lays down. It has double center bracing whereas that one has a single brace. And it came stock with an SH 28 I believe, that one came with a XTM 24.7. Bought mine as a roller...

They used some parts off the 1/7 scale buggy on the ST. Was part of the suspension. Also the housings on the gearbox and diffs.
Made a big thing out of it when they first came out. Sounds real good to use parts off a bigger vehicle, but they don't have to spend money on re-tooling either. Think the diffs are the same in both buggies and all 3 MT's.

The XLB comes with the .28. Rest of them still have the 24.7.

I agree.

...dont waste your money on it. Seems like it was made out of butter.

Are you talking about the original or the ST? Which one did you have?

what happened to it?

I was doing some jumps of a mound of dirt. That was the stock shock tower, I had to upgrade to the thicker version that ran $40 a piece. The truck would be great if you only ran in a straight line.

As for Zandor and NCnitro, they are just jokin around with ya. Was funny

The original.....it was fast for stocker, but not tough like my savage.

i added some bracing with some tubing. Once i did this it made it a lot more durable.
