My friend has a mammoth roller he wants to sell think he want 125 comes with a siro 3.5 that has just been repinched. It needs servos and a receiver from what I remember. I am just guessing the mill is no good. It might or might not have shocks. Any thoughts on price or on the rig in overall? Just gave my brother a savy I rebuilt and need a new project! Thanks guys!
 
well it is the kit, but it might be hard selling since it has flexing issues, but he can sell it for around $200 bit if its broken than around $125-$150.
 
Well I got the roller for 50 bucks how could you go wrong right? Just need to brake it all down clean, put back on the good parts and replace the ones that are no good I hope to have pics in about a month?

If you have any questions on where to get parts or what to do please ask me, I have a mammy and I love it but they do have flexing issues, which has 3 ways of fixing. Any questions feel free to ask me.
 
Flexing? Is that way there is a bar going from the front shock tower to the frame? I need shocks any idea where or what kind to get? Thanks
 
I'm not at home atm so I can't send you links until I get home, but I will tell you losi 8ight shocks fit if you buy the bottom parts for the shocks, I can't think of the term for it right now. Ill let you know more later tonight, but the easiest 2 ways to fix the flex is to 1 get a roll cage and 2 get an xt2 tranny and xt2 chassis plate.

I know it needs shocks,servos,motor,casters,header and maybe a arms somthig is stripped where the caster meets the a arms got to take a closer look tho!

XTM just came out with new larger bore shocks for the xt2, so when I get them, I will see if the reaer shocks are a good fit, then you will have to order 2 sets of rear shocks, the front ones are too short. Ill let you know when I get them, otherwise it looks like all you need is a receiver and a receiver box. Also tires, AKA truggy tires should fit, since the stock losi 8ight t are a perfect fit. AKA Grid Iron Super Soft tires. I will send you a link when I get a chance. I dont have much time atm, sorry.
 
Yeah need servos a mill, a shock rebuild kit, rx. I got tires a few sets and other then that it's just clean and rebuild? I got it all broke down today and painted the frame I'll get some pics up!
 
heres a link of some of XTMs new Large bore shocks, you need to buy 2 sets of these, the front set is too short so you need to buy 2 sets of the rear shocks.

I'm sure youll need shock oil for those, I would use 45 WT oil. 1 bottle is enough.

If you need a motor, I highly recommend XTM engines, very very powerful, thats what I run in my cars.

Heres a pic of my Mammy with the XTM 457 Pro, and no I didnt fix the flex on it, since its a winter project. I have a Spektrum radio, but I would recommend getting Airtronics instead of Spektrum.

Thanks for all the info! I wont have much time to work on it till the end of the week. As far as the rx goes I'm going to get a futaba to go with the 2.4 I use. Thinking on just rebuilding the shocks I have now because the mill and rx are going to cost a pretty penny. I see you have the 2 speed setup think I might do that dont know how much Ill like my setup as it is anythoughts?
 
stay away from the 2 speed, its terrible but I haved no choice but to keep the 2 speed so I can run in the Monster Truck class. The 2 speed trani has been a major problem with the mammy. The shocks I recommended to you can take way more of a beating compared to the stock ones.

Instead of the Futaba, I would get this airtonics Radio and receiver is included with it. It is a 2.4G radio too.

I all ready have a futaba 2.4 t3pm fasst for my revo. It is sad that it cost almost 100 bucks to buy A reciever to match it in another rig. I'm really happy with it all in all tho. Yeah them shocks do look alot better! Do you get more top end with 2 speed? I really dont know the pros & cons. If you say stay away from it i will just woundering. can't wait till I start to rebuild this truck I just want drive it allready!
 
the 2 speed causes problems with the diffs as well as the flex problem. Single speed is way better, the 2 speed is just a waste. The reason mine looks like it does is because its the 1st gen Mammoth ST, your gen Mammy has a lot of fixes in the bugs, but still has flexing issues. I highly recommend getting the XTM engine, and most receivers for 2.4G radios are $100. Top end speed isnt much different, I wouldnt worry about top end speed, mammys haul ass no matter what haha.
 
It is an ST, its actually the ST Pro which is actually a kit. XTM has only made 2 different types of Mammys theres the OG Mammoth and the Mammoth ST

I see there is 2 shocks per side on the og in your pic. Do they both take that setup? I do see holes on the front lower A arms that look like a shock could go the. My friends friend bought this truck in a lot of rc's from a guy we dont know other wise I would know what it is. Figured I shoud know before I start to shop. It might not matter tho if ones just a kit form truck or does it? No one carrys parts for them around here so waitting for a wrong part just to send it back would suck. Thats really way I endded up with it none of my friends want to only be able to buy parts online.

Its 100% an ST that you have. If you need parts for it, look at www.hobbypeople.net or www.xtm-dealer.com both carry parts for them. There is a huge difference between the ST and the OG and the ST has that 2nd hole for a second shock I believe, but I'm not too sure about that. Getting large Bore XTM shocks would eliminate the need of having 2 shocks on each arm. The OG Mammoth is obviously a monster truck, and the ST in Mammoth ST stands for stadium truck but with the 2 speed beings its so huge classifies it as a monster truck and the single speed classes it as a truggy.
