I just got a mamba micro sidewinder bl system for my mini t, i got the 6800kv and I have a 7 cell 2600mAh battery from ebay. When you hit full throttle it goes about 4 feet slowly and then suddenly goes fast. I reprogramed it to make sure that it was not the punch control but it still did it. I cannot figure out what is wrong with it. I also have deans connectors.

And what is a good lipo battery to use with my mini t, prefferably 3 cell.

Good luck fitting a 3s into a mini-t. It can be done, but you will be on your lid quite frequently with that 6800kv.

Team losi makes a 2s specifically for the mini-t. It's a great pack. You will need to solder your deans connectors onto the pack though, but it's about as big as you will be able to fit into the factory location without modification to the chassis or configuration.

Sounds to me like you're just cogging up, because the current draw needed by the mamba is hard to give with nicad/nimh cells. Try slowly squeezing into the throttle. Is your battery getting really hot? What size pinion gear are you running?

I am running a 16t pinion and a 59t spur. The battery gets hot at twards the end of the run.

Your battery is having trouble putting out enough voltage, that will give your bl system the jitters and cause the battery to get hot. Lipo should cure your problem and give you a very nice boost in power and speed.

His voltage is correct, it's the discharge rate of the battery that is causing the problem.

Going lipo would solve the problem. In the mean time, try a smaller pinion gear.

Set the punch control, timing, and startup power to low. Then make sure the LVC is disabled. Once you get the lag issue resolved, make small adjustments to the ESC parameters (one at a time) for optimum running with your particular pack and gearing.

That's great advice sweetdiesel, nice having the guru around (sometimes lol). I didn't think of doing something like that to cut down on the current that's required and resolve the issue, but that's going to be very useful info for guys that are having similar problems with their crawlers when running mamba 25 or a sidewinder.
