I have the motor out, and completely redid every seal on the thing today. I totally disassembled the exhaust and cleaned the holy heck out of it. I can actually see the rubber coupler now hahaha - it's blue!

I also have the body mounts off the thing, and I'm going to redrill them so that the body I have fits better. If, after all this work on the motor, I find it's still not good, I'm just going to drop some coin at the LHS soon and sport for the 3.3, much to the woman's dismay.

Now I'm just waiting for the 3.3 Maxx shocks I ordered to come in, so the thing doesn't look like a 1964 Impala on cruise night anymore :).

I also pressure tested the fuel tank and lines today - everything checked out great, so I'm hoping the seals on the engine do the trick!

Quick question: has anybody here ever put RTV on the pipe at the coupler? The more I look at it, the more that seems like an unnecessary, and possibly wrong, step.

Anyhow, just thought I'd throw down a quick update. I'm cleaning everything as it comes off, as well, so the thing is starting to look like a nice car again haha.

Thanks for everyone's help, here, you all have saved me a BUNCH of time, and given me a quick education in the world of nitro RCs!

if your gonna drop coin on a new mill, i would suggest the OS .18. its not much more then the 3.3 and alot better, more powerfull, and easier to tune engine.

as far as the rtv, can't help you there... sorry! i dont really see where it would hurt though.

Hehe, thanks a lot! I was just thinking that if I have to remove the coupler or pull the engine or whatever (as I have done four times since I got the rig LOL), a grippy RTV mess could really hurt things, but I'm not sure. It seems to seal up pretty well with the coupler, maybe I'll just do a nice zip-tie job and call it a day.

Thanks! :)
