I want to know 2 things.

1.) how can I make the wraith a better crawler by spending little to nothing. (Is that possible?)

2.) what is a good shock oil to make it a better crawler. Or should I invest in some internal spring shocks or shocks with longer travel?

Thanks,
Nick

What dont you like about the way it crawls now specifically?

mainly suspension travel. I want more. Would these help?http://store.rc4wd.com/Scale-100mm-Black-Shocks-with-Internal-Springs-2x_p_906.html

Also can i cut the chassis like this?

Those shocks you linked to are mainly for looks, they dont perform well. More travel will likely make it crawl worse actually. But you will have more flex, but thats not a good thing always. You stock shocks are what, like 3.5" 90mm? You could go with a 100mm but not one of those rc4wd's. Some traxxas or losi's would be way better.

Id start with softer springs though first, then if you dont like it, go with different shocks.

The gmades might fit your liking. Been alot of guys using them on the wraith.

I think both of those are 90mm, which is the same as what you have, so you wont gain any travel.

ok thanks! So do you guys know any tutorials to cut the wraith chassis to make it look more like this?

Id sure think it would weaken it real bad, but just grab a dremel and get cutting at the edge of the back cab piece.

Hi,
Heck, in my opinion, if that chassis is going to be chopped that much, why not simply remove it all together?
Or, Surely you could also buy a clear one, and cut/Dremel it, to your hearts content, then paint it the way you like.

^^lololol! Haha chas. the wraith doesn't have a body. It has panels. I was talking about the actual chassis!

so i really want to make this thing a better crawler. I dont really want the internal spring shocks anymore after reading about them. I've heard the proline shocks are pretty good. But out of my budget.
How about these?
How much taller will they make my truck
and how much more flex will i get?

With soft enough springs, the ride can be the same height, you will just get more travel like your wanting. Just order some and if their too stiff you can order softer springs.

I am running the proline shocks with the super soft springs and 30 weight oil, axial high clearance lower links and a 55 turn motor, it crawls pretty well with this setup. Although, the combination of the high center of gravity and the rear mounted battery makes it very tippy on steep slopes. Some body out there makes a battery tray that mounts up front under the hood, which brings the weight up front. A nice set of beadlock wheels and wheel weights would also help.

if your going to cut the back off you have to build some suports IMG_0255.webp wasn't hard i just used some rod stock and link ends that i heated to open up so that they fit on the wraith frame nice
