problems

hey i just bought a t-maxx .15 from a friend and this is the first rc car i have owned. i am having some problems with it and i need some help. my first problem is that when i prime the engine it runs for a few seconds then cuts out like it is not getting fuel. my second problem is that it only goes in reverse and the problem with that is that it doesn't have reverse in it so something is screwed up. if you have any ideas on what is wrong with it i'd like to hear them thanks

sounds like it is starting backwards
does it have the easy start on it ??

Yeah, I've had that happen a few times. Normally when it's cold outside (below 35 degrees F) But if it isn't starting backwards, your diffs are in upside down.

if he or you had it apart the diff's might be in backwards---lol not that I would have done THAT in the past--needless to say I for some reason have paint marked arrows on my diffs now....
The motor problem might be glow plug (my bet), try a new one--and I'm guessing if it is the old .15 Maxx it has quite a bit of fuel run through it, it might just be worn out?

you got it in when I was typing OLDS

it is a new engine it has only had one tank of fuel through it and yes it does have ez start. i know the diffs are not in wrong because it worked just fine after her worked on them. i tried reversing the ez start motor but when i tried starting it, it would make weird noises so.......

so ... put the wires on right and wait til the weather is nice out----MN is just getting warm enough to run nitro now, IT IS EXTREMELY HARD ON A NITRO MOTOR to run it when its cold out...they say rap a rag or tinfoil around the head but it still ain't worth it if you ask me. I don't know how far Alexndria is from Brooklyn Park but there is a indoor track there called TCHR-great bunch of guy's--they run nitro in there Wednsday nights for practice and the guy's there I am positive will help you when they have the time too. At tyhe end of April there is a big race there, I believe it is the 22nd and 23rd and there is going to be a ton of us there to help you...if I have the time I will even help you out.......just come back to the enclosed trailers out back and ask for SIRMAXXALOT and there will be most likely somone that can point me out.
