This is the second carb that i have had that my highspeed needle unscrews right out of the carb. you don't notice mutch then the tank is empty and all over the truck. it's a mess. i put a dab of locktite on it yesterday. anyone else had this problem.. oh yeah the backing plate bolts all backed off and fell out the same day. lots of bashing.:devious: .

use some rtv sealant on the backplate. How much fuel do yo uhave through the carb? Sounds like a bad O-ring.

When you apply the RTV silicone, just use a thin and I mean THIN coat of it around where the carb sits on the case. No more.Check the pinch bolt as it maybe stripped or even the carb. Don't go nuts on it and torque it down too much.

this carb has had alot of fuel run through it and i will try to use a new o ring. I'm going to try out my other carb too. thanks

Is it just the needle backing out or is it the entire HSN assembly that's backing out? I can't believe you don't notice it if it's either one... If the needle backs out, the thing will get rediculously rich. If it's the entire assembly backout out, it would get really lean since it would be sucking air half the time.

If either backed out you would have an engine that shuts off due to the incorrect air:nitro ratio. Figure it out and let us know..
