Ok, i just regestered and i got a major question. I've had my maxx for 7 months now and its fast. Real fast to me. But not fast enough. You see i got a huge budget,(basically been saving up for a few months) and i want this thing to be faster. Wicked fast. So the first mod that came to my head was the mach .26 conversion kit. But I'm a little worried cause the tranny gears are plastic and the yolks and everything else are plastic. So i know these are gonna have to be replaced so what I'm asking is what mods(gears, diffs, driveshafts, ect.) would be good for the maxx to hold up to the .26? Or is there an even better mod with greater benefits? Please answer as soon as possible. Thank you very much.

I want to agree with freedom. I wish i'd have known this before i bought the maxx. I did the same thing your pondering right now.

Mines probably sitting at around $2500 worth of Maxx. It's damn solid, but it took 5 savages or 5 maxx's to get it there. It's funny how when you piece things out that it doesn't seem like you spend that much. After i went through and made a spreadsheet of all my parts and prices, that's where i'm sitting. Add that to the $1500 i've spent on my Losi XXX-NT and i've got allot of $ wrapped up in this little venture. Allot to me anyway.

If you want, i can post what all i've done that seemed to make it bulletproof. I'm running a OS 21 RG with the XTM 21 kit. Check out my pics. It's painfully obvious that i'm not entering a car show. But, it is fun regardless how rough it looks.

But like i said, it took a lot to get it to the point of not breaking after 1/2 hour of use. Hindsight, i probably would have bought a Savage SS kit. It's supposed to be more solid that the stock Savage 21. But, you do have to put it together and supply your own radio. From what i've read, they (HPI) has worked out some of the kinks the Savage 21 had.

Now i'm to the point that i replace a rod end here or there, a bearing here or there. Little stuff that takes little time to fix.
