My LST2 was running fine then stopped. I drove it down a small 2 foot hill and and pretty high rev and I turned it around to drive it back up and it sat there and just rev'd. If I pick it up the wheels will spin but on the ground it rev's like hell and try to go but it seems like something is slipping or not engaging. It's not froze up - everything rolls and turns freely.

I finally got the engine tuned so it's running in temp and all is good and then this :(

Check your mesh between the spurson the tranny to the Clutchbell gears. You may have stripped them. Next place to check is your slipper clutch. It may have have gotten loose. There should be a nut that holds the two spurs to the tranny. I like to tighten mine down all the way and then bacck it out about a 1.5 turns. This is how I like to drive it.

Where would I look to see this? RIght next to the Spur Gears? If so - all is meshed fine. It just spins and no go.

Did this - took it apart all the way and cleaned and re-tightened everything - nothing. Could it be the OWB in the outside Spur gear? I could not figure out how to get that out so I sprayed some penetrating spray in the bearing and then wiped it out and added two drops of Tri-Flow... nothing. Thanks for the reply. I'm a little lost here.

I found the Issue!

Well - I stumbled across something by mistake. I rolled the truck by hand to check to make sure everything was turning correctly and I picked it up by the roll bar and my two left wheels were still spinning

I removed the nuts that held on the tires and the pins that held the nut/hub to the threaded axle shaft were missing!

So my question is what pins do I buy to replace the missing ones? Are they a force fit or does tightening in the axle perpendicular against pin keep it in place?

I am nut sure how big mu hubs are - the actual nut / hus measure .52-.53 (13.208mm - 13.462mm).

Here is some pics to help explain my confusion:

(1) is the back of the wheel zoomed in
(2) is the back of the wheel
(3) front of the wheel
(4) the nut / hub isometric
(5) the nut / hub top view

On any RCs I've ever had, the pins just slide in. You need to put in the pin, line it horizontally so it doesn't fall out, then put on the hex nut if it's slotted, then the wheel. Yours would go through the nut and axle, but you still need to keep it where it won't fall out when mounting the wheel.

It appears that you don't have stock hubs axles and nuts. Stock runs a 20mm hex I believe. Yours look like the losi after market 14mm hubs, but I'm not sure what holds them on. The pressure from the nut/bolt that holds the tire on puts a bind on the pins and keeps them in place. If you loose a wheel nut/bolt (again, not sure of what holds these on since they don't appear stock), there's a high likelyhood you loose the pin and possibly the hub as well.

It appears you just lost your pin. Could have been due to a loose nut/bolt or it fell out during assembly. I'm not sure if those hubs use stock pins or not.

It appears that you have these:

With these, I'd think you insert the pin, then thread the stub bolt in to lock down on the pin before putting the wheel/nut on. Use threadlock on the stub bolt.

I don't see any extra pins in the description or in the photo, so I'm guessing the stock pins are all you need:

I agree - that is the kit I have. I bought the truck second hand because ther person who bought it didn't have time and needed money. The truck is in great shape. It seems all LST2 except this part. Is there a better kit?

The pin itself measure 3mm x 13.69mm. Is this stock size?

Thanks all for the reply.
