i just got out my LST2 that has been in closet for about a year and half and it started right up seems to run good except one little problem when i let it idle after it has ran for any amount of time it sounds like to idle is really high almost like a car bounceing off rev limiter... any ideas what to do? i bought new fuel 20% nitro.

anyone? anything?

Dirty carb, clogged fuel filter, dried/cracked fuel lines, leaky fuel tank seals... Could be any of those after sitting that long. The fuel tends to gel up once all the methanol evaporates. Any time an engine sits for more than a few months without running, I usually tear the carb completely apart and clean it, lube it, re-seal it with RTV and then run it. If I don't, I usually fight with something like your dealing with.

I've also ran into this same problem.. Sounds to me like you have an air leak somewhere. You should also try to adjust the low idle setting on your carb, make it run a little leaner.. 1/8 of a turn will change a lot!!

Don't adjust anything!! It ran good when you put it away right?

What you're describing is a very lean idle......most likely from what olds said. If his advice doesn't help then make sure your carb gap is at 1mm or less, then back the lsn out 1/16 turn at a time.
