Hi everybody I'm new to nitro cars and just got an LST 2 which I love. My question is the antenna wire that comes out of the reciever and goes up the antenna tube extends well past the top of the tube, like there is 3" just flopping around. Should I do anything with all of the extra wire? Cut it off? Thanks for your help and GREAT FORUM!!:bling:

I also like to use some electrical tape to tape up the exposed wire......tape it right to the tube...that helps keep it all in order and protected from the flips!!

take some fuel line, snip a 1/4 inch or so of it off. fold the leftover wire down the tube and slide the fuel line over it, you can use multiple rings to hold it as well. i like to use a little longer piece right a the top of the tube and let it stick up above the tube. this will protect the wire from fraying in a wreck.

I like to not secure the wire on the end of the tube. On a roll over, if the tube gets pinched between the body and the ground, the tube will come off (or try to). If you have the wire secured to the end of the tube, it will rip the wire in half. I've done it a couple times with my savage.

Now I run just enough wire to reach the end of the tube, but not stick out. The remaining wire I coil up and zip tie it in the receiver box.

i like to have a little bit hanging out, not more than 1" at max. you might also try your lhs to see if they dont have a longer tube.
