I need some help please i have just bought my first r/c and it is a used lst original everything i've read so far list several parts that break. what i need to know what parts to replace to keep it running. and how easy are the parts to replace. like i said i'm new to this and know nothing about this yet. Thanks for any help

Like any other RC you MIGHT break arms and shock towers but LST's aren't problem prone.

In other words fix it as you break it. Just buy replacements of the common stuff...

Well, to avoid being down for a long time (or waiting for parts), I'd pick up at least a spare set of CB bearings, clutch shoes (savage teflon work nice ;)), a spare set of 1st/2nd gear spurs, a dynamite engine bay brace and RPM arms with lunsford upper turnbuckles.

The arms are pretty fragile and RPM's with lunsford are tough. Mine are about 1.5 years old and still in good condition. I broke two of the engine chassis braces prior to a dynamite one and before going to a teflon HPI savage set of clutch shoes, CB bearings were short lived... which has a tendency to take the spurs out when the bearings give out.

Not a big list, but those were pretty much my first 6 months of upgrading on my aftershock. The RPM arms were the first thing I went with to avoid downtime.

Thanks for the help. I don't want to sound like a idiot but i'm going to just the same because i don't know so i will ask when everyone talks about tuning what and how is the best way to tune it?

Tune it? If you mean the engine, there are docs that once you read, they shed a lot of light on what "tuning" really does.

This is a pretty good one:
