i have my hyper 8 riding high when i go offroad or on the gravel..i play mostly on sand so the tires aren't getting that much grip when i turn but going on a straight line its alright..i also get some rooster tails....should i lower it? will that help me turn..what about on gravel that has a lot of small and some big rocks..?
i run on hard and soft sand...the hard sand i can drive on real nicely but on the soft sand if i stop i get stuck..or if the chassis touched the sand i get stuck lol so I'm scared if i lower it ill keep getting stuck....and what about jumping? i usually jump but not so hiiigh just small jumps like on dirt piles and stuff..:\ on road and gravel i beat most of my friends :first_place: but on sand sadly i keep getting stuck :angry: they all have the jato and our lhs stocks paddle tires for the jato only :angry: i dont like ordering online that much...is there a way to make paddle tires at home? cardboard..plastic...

I'm not too sure about the grip but lowering it will reduce the chance of rolling, you may not even have that problem tho :P

i drive in soft sand a bit with my tmax. I simply cut out every second tread. The tmaxx already has a sort of paddley tire, so I just cut every second one out and it made for a better ride int the sand. And i'm sure your LHS has stock tmaxx tires. You might need new rims though.

with the right tools anything will work (well almost) your problem in the sand isnt ride height, its the tires. you have to have some big lugs or paddles to run in sand (you answered your own question here, when you mentioned your buddys are running jatos with paddles) a buggy isnt really set up for hard bashing or rocks. it needs to be set up so the arms are level with the ground, for the best handling. if you dont want to go with paddles, you may try some proline badlands or the ofna tires

both those tires are at the lhs..i asked the lhs guy wich one is the best for sand he showed me exactly the same tire as in the top pic...i didnt get this one because i thought they might get wrecked on on-road or gravel...

Get a set of onroad tires, and a set of offroad tires.

:tank::deadhorse::whip::doh::horsecrap::stupid:
I feel no need to add anymore.

You might also think about getting the right RC for the job, 1/8 scale buggies are not really made for the sand they are made to be raced on a track, if it were a truggy it would be a little better suited for the sand because of the larger tires and wheels and increased ground clearance, maybe when you want to play in the sand you could out fit it with some agressive truggy tires and wheels which would solve both your clearance and traction issues...JMO...

well i got the buggy.. I'm saving up to get either the baja 5b or the 5t..i might be going for the 5b because its a sand rail and they look soo good with the paddle tires...or i might go with the 5t and turn it into a 4wd...

hey rc addict whats the car on the left?? the one in ur signature thingy...?? I'm likin it

and yea i also tied cable ties around the back tires...hope that helps ...didnt try it yet..

the slash wont do anything your asking for in a rig.

and as for the cable ties, i think he is using them for paddles going across the wheels, not around them

+1 on the Slash if he wants wheelies. He needs a Stampede, High Roller, or better yet a Wheelie King! JMO!

Oh. Only two problems I see with cable ties: 1) They are not pliable 2) They don't have a big cross-section (not very "deep"). JMO...
