Does anyone know how those exhaust deflectors affect performance? I've been wanting to get on for my t-maxx and one for my savvy, but I don't want to kill my performance just in the name of keeping oil off the chassis.

keep in mind if you are running on snow sound carries ALOT more.....I would run the ribbed pipe with the silicone deflector......if you are just running the thing for a few tanks outside of your house people should be able to deal with a few moments of fun during the day....I wouldn't go fire it up at midnight or anything but damn that woman is just being bitchy IMO......I hope when I'm older I can deal with kids doing things constructive instead of bitching about the minor inconvenience of having to turn my television up a few notches to hear oprah bitch about how kids today have nothing to do so they turn to crime......nuff said

you could get an old piece of crap RC on ebay, strap some dynamite to it, and then send it over to their yard. Uh oh bad idea, I think we just escalated the charge from disturbing the peace to AM. Oh well, it's a fun idea to think about.

wow, i this topic really opened up quick! well thanks looks like I'm getting the polished one, but now i have a new problem chewed my spur cuz my engine bolts came lose! DAMN! I have lock tight but i just bought this truck and didnt do anything but check the mesh in the gears. :(

Well this is pretty old, i havent used my truck in awhile because my buddys T maxx broke and he hasnt fixed it so its been awhile, i didnt buy a tuned pipe yet, so i dont know if there are any new ones that came out so I'm still in the market for one.

Is the polished one still the quietest? ALso where does everyone buy there parts from online because i need a list!!! Thanks sorry for bringing out this old topic.

Not new, but since I had replied to this thread, I have installed an LST2 HT stock pipe on my aftershock instead of the HPI polished. It's far quieter with good power out of my LRP28 in it. It smoothed out the power and moved it up the RPM range. With the HPI polished pipe, most of the power was down low in the RPM's.

I use it with the aftershock coupler using nylon reinforced silicone tubing for a coupler with heavy zipties. The reason I made a note this is because the pipe is intended to use as a "one piece" exhaust system. That's the kind that uses little springs to attached the pipe to the header. It's held up great with how I have it for a good portion of last season.

They can normally be found at a pretty reasonable price on ebay. Should work ok on the savage like I have it on my aftershock.

Do you think it will fit on a Savage 25? Also do you have a link to it, price and pictures? Thanks. i was going to use A Main Hobbies.com to buy parts. Thanks alot!

Also I'm not looking to spend too much because i need so much already, i bought a body, now i need servo's, linkage, bolts, i need the throttle horn.... it seems endless lol

Yeah, it should. You may need to make a new wire hanger for the end, but otherwise, it's pressure tap and exhaust stinger are in the right spots for a savage.

Here's the pipe at amain:

Like I said though, you can get it cheaper on ebay:
Losi HT Pipe (BIN)

Or you can bid on one
Losi HT Pipe (auction)

I wouldn't be surprised to see you win an auction around $20 for it.

Thanks for your help, i posted a New thread because i need alot of help :) THanks again.

Well i won that pipe and it arrived today. It seems like the header deffinitly wont fit, I'm guessing to just use the stock one and use the purple rubber cupler thing that holds the stock muffler to the stock header correct?

Which one did you win? The losi HT pipe? Got a photo or link to it?

If it's the losi HT pipe, you would have better luck with some heavy duty re-enforced silicone tubing. The normal coupler should work, but I find that they tear easy on hard landings once the pipe and everything is up to running temps.

Team Losi HT pipe. i rigged it up, but now i took my motor out to replace the spur gear, and i should clean everything, also need new Bolts for the motor mounts because they were stripped when i got the truck.

The Team Losi HT pipe is what you reccommended in the link for that auction, thats what i won.

Is it a good pipe isnt it what your running?

Seems good with the engines I've seen run on it so far. Quieter than other pipes I've tried, which I like. But by being quieter, it doesn't seem to impact performance like other quiet pipes I've tried.

I haven't seen one run with the HPI engines though. Mach 427 gold and green, M26SS and my LRP28. Seems to work really well on all of those.
