Lost my wedding ring

I am in the process of tracking down a metal detector as we speak.

Tom

Well I got my hands on a Metal Detector. I asked my buddy to set his ring in the grass for me and the detector picked it up. I am optimistic that if the ring is in the yard I should be able to find it. Here's hoping!

It'll be 12 years this August and the thing only comes off when I'm working with raw hamburger meat (I used to work in a restaurant, sanitary reasons), otherwise, it stays on. Mow grass, change oil, play hockey, sleep, shower, paint, work around the house, wrench on the Harley; all with it on. I feel weird when I don't have it on and the one time I went to work without it, the day was absolute crap by lunch, so I ran home and got it. Thing is beat practically to hell, but those scratches give it character!

Next time your not sure where to put it, swallow it! You know where it will be..................J/k

Good luck with the search!

Lost mine once about 5 years ago. I was fishing with the family and I jumped off the boat to cool off...

We had the boat against a steep muddy bank and I tried to climb the shore to get back in the boat........should have just swam around to the latter...but I am hard headed that way.

Anyway as I grabbed the shore I got sucked into the muddy bank and when I finally got my balance and footing back my ring had been sucked back inside the bank......myself ..my wife ...my kids sloshed threw that muck for hours before just giving up and coming home.

We all laughed at what a dumb ass I was, and for a year or so I simply did not wear a ring.

Then my wife bought me a cheap ring just to wear as she said "in the wild".

This past year we where able to replace my substitute and her original with a much nicer set......I bought her original at a pawn shop so it was time. ;)

BUT as has been very eloquently stated here It tis the LOVE and TRUST and hot SEX that keeps my wife and I together ...the ring is a nice reminder of our vows.....but its the Love I have for her that keeps me coming home at night.

Hope you find your ring just make sure the metal detector is on the right setting to be sure you detect it.

Can't wear rings or watches at work, as a result, I don't wear them. The only time I wear my ring is a special occasion. Married for 13 years, been that way since day one.

I had been married abt 2 wks me and my wife were up north spending a nice quiet wknd at a motel when I looked at my ring and the center dimond was missing, thank goodness for insurance. Eventually I had to quit wearing it cus it kept cracking at the bottom of the band. Note if you use your hands alot get 10k not 14k, 14k is to soft and bends/cracks easily. Now I just wear a plain 10k band no probs since.

Hey Guys,

Thanks for the well wishes and sharing your stories. It helps to know that I may not be the only one to ever loose something of value.... well at least sentimental value anyway. I tried last night to look for a bit but I had no luck. My stepson had a Tball game so I didn't get home until around 8 so light was not in my favor. I looked with a flashlight for an hour and gave up for the night. I will try again tonight since I will get home with alot more daylight. If I ever do end up with another ring, it will not ever come off my finger for any reason. At least I will always know where it is. Like Monkey said... scratches build character...... so it will always be on from now on. Although with our current situation of landscaping it will have to wait until we can afford another. I will keep looking, and in the meantime if you guys have a story to tell, keep them coming! It helps.

Years ago, while I was in the army, I lost my wedding ring doing some PT and during our grass drills. It took about 20-minutes of my buddies we managed to find it. I told my wife about it and she just laughed and told me I was stupid and should leave it at home.

Well I wish I was as lucky to find it, though I don't have 20 guys looking for either. That would have been nice. It is becoming increasingly aparent the I am not going to find this ring. Unfortuantely progress on the landscaping needs to progress so my time of having the area just as it was when I lost the ring is decreasing. I will give it one more good shot and then I guess I have to write it off as a lesson learned.

Tom, you will know it was there when that lawnmower goes from "hum hum hum" to "cling ffft..." look to wherever the grass comes out then!
Good luck!

Thanks man.... I am going to need it! LOL

The only time I take mine off is when I have it cleaned at the jeweler

Yeah.... Yeah..... All you goodie 2 shoes out there, never take your ring off. You guys are just afraid of your wives. I know the story. LOL

Hm... no, it's actually just to avoid looking all over the F*&*#%@ place to find a metal ring that could get lost :)

Aww... cmon it's fun rooting around your yard for hidden treasure! Just think, if I had not lost my wedding ring I would have never found all those old beer tops that were so carelessly disgarded! LOL

No, it's actually an accurate reflection of how pathetically lazy I am!

LMFAO!!
