Been a minute since we did a build 😂. My amazing wife gifted me the kit for Christmas 😄. Shoulda seen the look on her face when I opened it 🤣

Anyways, might as well get this one going. Still not sure on where it’s going, but we will see!

I seriously contemplated getting that and putting the IFS kit on the front. Enjoy!
I’ve been thinking about it. I only grabbed the kit on a Black Friday sale cause I couldn’t pass up the deal 🤣.

It will probably be a long build because I don’t have much planned right now.

Well so far the manual is terrible 😂.

Start with the transmission.

Following the directions (and the gear count is not what came in the box) it shows to put the 53 tooth gear on the front output hub. The was a 55 tooth and 52 tooth gear in the bag. So I put the 55 on the front and the 52 on the rear as it shows…it’s also too early for math 😂

And then the 25 and 28 tooth idler gears. While it fits, when you put the cover on with the input shaft, nothing spins because it doesn’t engage the idler gear…so back apart and swap the gears around on the hubs. So got all that straightened out

But if you go to the back of the book it shows the optional overdrive gears and setup

The 25/55 gearing isnt even listed and for what we do it’s probably too much overdrive? I’m going to order the 1:1 gears because we mostly just trail drive. I didn’t initially because it showed to come with the 53/27 set up and that would have probably been fine.

I was going to get the motor mounted up, and was under the impression from the description when I bought it and the required items list that a pinion gear was included. Well there isn’t one in the box so I gotta order one of them too.

You should just stop and give it to dB... :hehe:

How is it you don't have a box full of pinion gears?

This being a pro level builder's kit, I think they just planned on people doing one of the overdrives, and they leave the pinion up to builder's choice.

This is from the description, so yeah, the 1:1 gearing is optional. You could just go with the 28:52 and 27:53 gearing. The description below doesn't match the manual. Here, they are calling option 1 the 1:1. So I am guessing the manual is for the stock Element kit, and the builders kit 3 you have just comes with the option parts. The description here has been adjusted for your specific kit, calling stock gearing the 5.7% overdrive.

Yeah that’s what I’m saying. I was under the impression it was coming with the 27/53 for 5.7 % and the 26/54 for 11.8%. But all that was in the box is the 25/55 gear set. Like where the hell did that come from 🤣

And I guess I did miss the pinion part. The element site lists it needed, the Amain list where I ordered it did mention it.

Yeah, it actually says it comes with both overdrive gears in the description. So I would ask CS wherever you got it from to look into that.

I like that all your builds are Ford trucks. For this one, this would get my vote.

The rear cage is Vanquish, but I don't think it would be terribly difficult to get it to fit. I could be wrong. But I'd give it a shot, and if it didn't work, I'd just buy the Vanquish too because I love this body 😁
