Losi Micro SCT- battery gets hot while charging!

Just got a brand new Losi SCT, and it has a battery charging issue...
I just plugged in it's NiMh 4.8v 220MaH, and it gets hot after 20-30 minutes of charging, should I keep charging it?
because in the manual it says to charge 1 full hour. What should I do???

Never let a battery get hotter than 120 degrees. Any hotter will damage it eventually. If your not using a peak detecting charger, take it off of the charger when it gets warm to the touch.

I'm using the mini 6v 400MaH charger, ]
And do you know if My LOSI SCT uses the same motor as the LOSI Micro T, I want to use the Micro-t brushless upgrade.

I would personally just go with the lipo battery and leave it brushed. They rip way harder than stock, but are still controllable. They probably use the same motors. Not sure though.

Which lipo should I use, the one from losi.com, are there any cheaper ones

Yes, the Losi Micro Excelorin or however you spell it fit the Micro SCT ,and rally car. I have seen a few people with them already. And with a micro 3s lipo they are just ballistic!

I use the Exceloron Brushless with the 10250 kv motor and on 2s, it's way too much power and is nearly uncontrollable in my Micro Desert Truck. The smaller kv motor should be great on 2s.

And a LiPo won't damage my stock electronics?

you mentioned a 10250kv motor, its brushless right, would the same one fit and work with my micro sct.

A lipo battery won't hurt your stock electronics. But you have to make sure the lipo's voltage doesn't drop too low. That damages lipos and becomes a safety hazard. The motors are the same size. As stated, 10250kv is too much motor. Something in the 5-6000kv range would probably be more suitable. Like I said though, these little trucks jam on 2s and the stock motor. It's controllable, rips wheelies all day and keeps some dough in your pocket. But if your dead set on having a micro missile, by all means, go for it.

I have a little problem,
the stock ESC and the receiver is combined in ONE board.
If I get a brushless system it includes only the motor and ESC, so I won't have a seperate receiver to use with the brushless system.

I'd replace the whole radio. How does a spektrum dx3e sound, Would it work?

As long as you can squeeze the electronics onto the chassis, it'll work.

Losi makes a kit to replace the stock RX/ESC with a separate RX and a new standard 3-wire servo. The smallest motor available for the brushless is the 8750 kV motor. The Exceleron ESC has a LiPo cut-off built in.

I use a Spektrum Marine 2-channel RX With my DX-3s. Really small RX for $49. The TX must be marine RX capable is the only draw back.

My Micro D/T missile will go faster than 30 mph. The racers all get a big grin on their face whenever it's being run.

I have another problem- I went to my local hobby shop and asked for LiPos and brushless motor for my Micro SCT, and they told me that I can't upgrade to brushless with the stock battery in, that means I need to spend almost the amout I paid for the car itself! Are they just saying that so they want to sell more to me or is it true.

As I said before, my Micro Desert Truck is a missile. It's very hard to steer at speed. It still puts a grin on my face every time I drive it, though.
