another thing I had to do is where the crystal goes into the back of the controler the little holes where the prongs slide into were opend up to much so the crystal wasn't making a full connection. that solved my twithing problem.. or try a different controler and you should see a difference.. let me know.

Yeah, that never worked. Now once I have taken the crystal out of the Maxx, I have no signal between the Tmaxx TQ3 transmitter and the Tmaxx!

I posted this on the Tmaxx forum.

I just got the new servo from Horizon hobby today, only about 4 days after i noticed it in stock online. I installed it in the highroller, and it solved the problem!!! My son is going to do backflips in the morning when I give it back to him:OMG:......working!!!

Thanks to all of you for your help with trying to fix this.

The highroller really is an awesome little truck...............now for upgrades, hmmm, maybe brushless conversion, Lipo, wheels/tires.:redbuggy:

i got the brushless system but my batteries still havent showed up.. eerrrr.. i have it all set up and no batterie power to run it..
great to hear its up and running!!

nice maxx

What are some good upgrades for these things? I dont know a whole lot about electric. Would like to get more battery packs for longer run time. Can I go lipo without having to upgrade/strengthen anything else, or am I running the risk of stripping out gears and breaking parts. My son is obviously the driver here and I would imagine that lipos would kick it up into high gear, so I am not sure if lipos would be worth it right now.

I've seen that Atomic BB motor for the highroller, anyone had good or bad experiences with this motor?

Any of the Losi Micro trucks except maybe the Micro Crawler and the Trail Truck can use the Micro ESC/Brushless system that Losi makes. I would recommend the 8750kV kit. Losi also makes a RX/servo kit as well to complete the conversion. I used that when I originally converted my Micro Desert to brushless. I would let your son run the stock NiMH packs to keep the speed down a bit.

So are you saying that it would be better to upgrade to the brushless motor rather than going to the motor that I linked to above??I just figured that the Atomic BB motor would be a cheap way to get a little bit more power. Do you have to upgrade the esc if you install the 8750kv motor.? You mentioned the 8750 kit. Sorry but i really dont know much about this at all.

yup you have to pretty much change the whole electrical system to go brushless. I just converted my micro dessert myself ( was going to put on the micro-t but the dessert had more room.) I bought a micro-t that has an atomic motor in it and Its alittle faster but not like the brushless.

and if you wanted I have talked to a few people that went to lipo's and are very happy with their speeds.

Forgive my ignorance, but can you go to a lipo battery without having to do anything else?

Yeah, the Atomic motor might be the way to go for us, I can't really afford to put in the whole new brushless system.

yeah you can use lipo with normal system I know a few people that runn a micro-t with lipo's. the best thing you can do to get an idea of what you need to do the brushless thing is go to losi.com and click on the micro high roller and in there should be an option to see the list on their website if I remember right.. better to ask then to try and do something wrong and fry the little guys buggy.. I always worry about that when I work on the kids rc's cause I would feel bad If they couldnt runn when they want to.. the boy is starting to learn some more about them. hopefully soon he will be wanting to try to work on it while I whatch..... wont that be the day when I can spend more time on my rigs.... l.o.l.

Yeah, your right, I dont want to fry the highroller....especially when I just got it up and runnin after a month!! Sounds like I am best off with leaving his truck with the stock electronics and getting other kinds of upgrades for it like wheels/tires, alum shocks, extra battery etc. for now.

How many charges should I be able to get out of the stock 220mah battery? Also, how would I know if the motor is still good or how long it lasts? When he first got the truck, we could charge the battery for around 30 minutes, and the truck would wheelie on command. Now, we charge the battery for almost an hour, and dont get nearly the same amount of power from the truck as when it was new. Is this an indication that it is time to replace the stock battery or possibly time to replace/upgrade the motor?

you dont have any hair rapped around any of the driveline do you??? I am always pulling hair off mine from the old lady. and check your gearing too that might have gotten adjusted..

YEAH, I just pulled out a bunch of hair from the rear hubs. I'll take off the rear whels and clean it out more.
