I have a gallon through the motor it was running fine but today I started it up and ran it for about 3 min.. Then the idle would increase to a higher idle not so much that the motor would engage the clutch shoes. But it doesn't sound good I sealed the motor back plate & carb the only thing that i didnt seal was the Idle adjustment screw.. could this be the leak I've got new fuel line on a new fule filter. Tank looks good. I also have a Hot Body pipe on it I'm confused as to what the problem is...My only link to this prblem is the Idle screw it seems to easy to turn and at times seems to have no effect on the Idle...I have an O.S. .30 waiting to go into the truck but not untill I have mastered the .26 ....

Also I have another mach .26 I have a stripped out back plat bolt. can I run it with only three bolts in the back plate? thanks ahead of time for your inputs

yeah I've heard that before so when I bought mine that was the first change with the pipe. so new fuel filter is on. New pipe. New lines. got to be the carb.???

I had a really leaky M26 in my Aftershock as well. I sealed the back plate and carb neck with RTV. I also took out the LSN and HSN, then coated them near the o-rings with associated green slime and it seemed to do the trick. I ran a hard gallon or so through it after that and it runs like a SOB!

It likes to run on the warm side (240F-260F), but it runs best in that range. If I try to richen it, it runs like crap.

I actually sold it to a buddy of mine for $40. He's new to the hobby, so if he fries it, he's only out $40 and hopefully can learn a bit with it.

What did you strip out? The crank case threads? Since it's kind of junk now anyway, why don't you try just cleaning it really well, then seal the back plate with RTV and put a dab of jb-weld in the threads. I don't know if the engine is worth trying to "fix". You can buy them new on ebay for around $100.

Well half of the bolt is still in the threads it isnt. comin out. but on the other hand it could just be parts for my mach .26 in the truck now there the same motor. I've got a .25 two .26's spec 3 .28 and an O.S. .30 so I'm not hurtin in the motor area

Another problem is I just found a crack in the fuel tank so I went down to Jakes hobbies and got a new tank...but its different where the batteries go that nook isnt there on this new tank so I have to take it back.

If you have a crack in the fuel tank, I would bet that was your problem all along.

As far as a battery, Are you using the stock 4 cell pack or a Rechargeable flat pack?

That tank should work. It's the hi capacity tank. Unless you've modified to 4 wheel steering. I'll probably replace my tank with that one if my LHS ever gets one in... The LRP is a thirsty engine. Much more so than the M26 was.

have used both tanks and both fit fine. Make sure your fuel filter is on properly and the battery is in correct. If either is off..its a PITA to get it in at all.

Where are your guys batteries going? Mine mounts to the bottom of the chassis and doesn't affect the fuel tank... That's the stock location on mine. It's underneath the chassis under the fuel tank and engine.

As far as I remember, the LST has the option to use the 4 cell alkaline holder and that mounts underneath the tank. The flat pack that I mentioned goes underneath the engine and has a separate compartement that houses it. $ screws and a pice of plastic hold it ...

EDIT: Moved to correct forum.

Oh... I didn't realize that was an option... I don't really bother with AA's anymore so I didn't look to see where a 4aa holder would fit when I got mine. I just ordered a decent 1400Mah flat pack before I bought the truck.

The aftershock came with the holder for the flat pack as well.

do u have a roto start because i had the same problem it might even bee the pull start when u takt the pull start off the main part that it screws on might be loose thats what happened to me

WOW were did all you guys com from..lol this is great thanks guys I got the problem fixed but now that I see we have a lot of LST fans tell me what I'm doing wrong here. The truck needs alot of RPM's before it will move is this normal? its acts like to me that the clutch springs are to strong? or that the first gear needs that RPM to engage it. I'm comin from a savage three speed that is runnin very well right now and I want the Losi to be just as good..I'm leaving for my Camping trip in two weeks the Elevation is going to be a tunning issue but I've been there before. But if my Aftershock needs to build that much RPM's before it moves this could be a problem so what am I doing wrong.

Jon2 I'm presently using the Four battery pack how much is the flat one you mentioned for this ride I would be interested if the price is under 50.00 I've spent so much money this past few weeks getting things up and running.

as for the revs getting higher, check to make sure your throttle linkage isnt sticking high or low on the servo arm. i have htat problem every so often and it can be a pain in the ass when your trying to make your truck idle.

2 strokes tend to need to wind up before they really have any power. i noticed that with my stock m26, i had to let that thing wind up alot more than most engines. but now I'm running a 28 spec3 and am not having any problems there.

Mine takes way more RPM's than my revo does to get moving. When I first got the truck, I thought the same thing as you, but I got used to it. It engages a bit earlier now that I have about 3 gallons through the clutch springs.

Ok so I'm not alone and chuck3 i had adjusted all my linkages so there's not obstrutions with that. Its in the shoes or the spur I was thinking of useing the HPI springs my bud came up with that one its seems that the losi springs are a bit firmer than the hpi.

and JON2 i just got the rechargable batteries so the bigger tank i'm keeping. the bats are 1600mi so they should give good performance A.
